Don’t Miss This Tapas Bar in Seville!

My favourite tapas bar in Seville. For some reason this bar does not make the lists for the best tapas bars in Seville and I simply do not understand this. Go to the back bar. The pulpo is fantastic as is the spinach. The staff are totally unfreindly🙄. I go in here regularly and they never acknowledge me - super grumpy. 😆. Do not let that put you off. I love this place. It is touristy - the location is in the tourist heartland but it’s also full of locals. I like to see what the locals order and try that. It’s how I found the sherry Pedro Jiménez (from Jerez - very sweet, black almost - very very nice) If you want to get a table the best tip is to get there at 8pm as they open up. It fills up very fast. Sevillianos to do start eating until after 9pm. Only the back bar has tables and they are limited. This bar does get super busy especially after services at the Cathedral - it’s the nearest bar to the Cathedral. During Semana Santa it’s rammed.

Making it here on attempt three after going by their inconsistent hours listed on Google, we sat down at a small table in the corner and were actively ignored by staff for over 90 minutes. Finally managing to order a round of drinks and 6 tapas plates from a passive aggressive waiter, we waited patiently, watching locals being jovially served around us while we were actively ignored. After an hour of being avoided and treated with utter contempt by the staff, we'd only recieved 4 of the 6 tapas plates we'd ordered (which had all been aggressively thrown down on the table in front of us) so we assumed that the last 2 plates were never going to arrive. Unable to get the attention of the staff and annoyed by how unwelcome we felt, we decided it just wasn't worth it. We decided to leave. Requesting our cheque, the exacerbated waiter rolled his eyes at us when we asked that the 2 plates we'd never received be taken off the account. Taking our credit card, he inadvertently processed it twice, which, thankfully, we discovered just after leaving the restaurant. We returned immediately to have it rectified and were met with apologies but frankly, it was too little too late. We walked out hungry, tired and annoyed. Overall, just an absolutely awful experience. After visiting multiple tapas bars and restaurants all over Sevilla, this one really left a bad taste in my mouth, pardon the pun. While the establishment is undoubtedly beautiful and steeped in culture and history, the disdainful service and lack of care for customers is simply unforgivable. Working in the food industry myself, I'm genuinely shocked that a restaurant can rest on its laurels while they continue to treat patrons with such utter contempt. Whether it's a dislike for tourists or an inability to cope with the crowds, it shouldn't be the fault of the eager patrons who come here expecting a taste of Sevilla. I was genuinely looking forward to coming here after seeing it listed on multiple websites relating to tapas, but all I can personally recommend is that you avoid it at all costs and read the other one star reviews written online because they're not wrong. The food is mediocre at best, and I wish I'd done more research before I gave them my time and my money. There's so many incredible places to eat in Sevilla, sadly this just isn't one of them.

Came for lunch today on recommendation from a local Sevilla resident. Arrived (no reservation) at 1230hrs. Seated without issue in the back section (appears to be a front and back bar). Staff very friendly and patient. No paper menus - all written (in spanish) on the blackboard or in chalk on the big tall barrels. Very little English spoken by staff which was fine as it is a locals place. Food came out promptly with table bread - we had the spicy chorizo (4 slices), patatas frites with dipping sauce, sandwich (pringų), tenderloin with butter (lomo manteca), Sirloin (solomillo a la cream), the latter two being stand-out dishes. Pork or beef cheek not available today. Noted a few people ordering octopus. Drinks served icy cold. Reasonably priced and enough food for 2 people. Would recommend to others. Would go again after studying the menu a little better so we could understand all that was on offer as found it difficult to communicate with staff.

This renowned tapas bar in Seville offers an experience that's as delightful as it is delicious. Artistic Interior: Those large metal casks lining the room? Brilliant! They're not just decorative; they showcase parts of the menu. It's like the menu got a gallery space, and we're all invited. Charming Vibes: With its rustic, hole-in-the-wall ambiance, the place has an endearing charm. It's the kind of place where every corner tells a story of Seville's rich culinary history. Quick Picks Tip: For those not fluent in Spanish (like me), a little advice: the wait staff moves with purpose and pace. To stay in the game, decide on your tapas ahead of time. (I added the English menu to my review below) All things considered, this tapas bar is a must-visit in Seville. Between its creative decor and authentic feel, it's a spot that captures the heart of the city's dining culture. Embrace the energy and savor the flavors!

Lovely building, great old characteristics, cool and breezy. Personally I would like Google to do better than single stars..o wouldn't rate this place as a 4 but 3 is too harsh. I arrived almost as it opened, staff were courteous but very abrupt, I asked for a beer and any 2 tapa that they recommended. I got croquettes and meatballs.. the 2 most boring, easy to knock out to tourists tapa you can get. I appreciate that this is usually very busy and the attitude seems to follow that, even when it's not! Not very personable. Both dishes were ok, plain and easy - hard to get them wrong, and maybe it's just that I wouldn't choose them as a representation of my menu, but other than that, a couple of other dishes that came out looked nice but sparse. Theres a back room that I didn't see until after I left which looks cool. However.. €7.80 for 2 tapa and a large beer, pretty good value
