Helados La Abuela — Restaurant in Seville

I was on my way to the riverside and thought of getting an ice cream to cool myself from the heat. I saw the review was quite good 4++ star with one negative comment about styrofoam being inside the ice cream. I thought nothing of concern it could've been a once in a lifetime event.

Oh boy, I was lucky ! I walked 100m away from the store eating happily until I bit on something springy. To my surprise it was styrofoam in my Fresa Strawberry Ice Cream.

I thought it's fine. I throw the styrofoam in the picture away. I took another bite. It was another piece of styrofoam.

I went back to the store. Told them about it. They said : wait a minute. They took my ice cream cup away to check. Yes they confirmed there was styrofoam. They were gonna scoop me another cup of the same ice cream until I stopped them saying I would just prefer a refund.

I don't want to deal with possibly another styrofoam infused ice cream.

They refunded. They didn't say sorry. I left. It's good but not worth the trouble to...

Styrofoam!! They dont Care about your health or in worst Case about your child, choking on styrofoam!!! We found styrofoam INSIDE the ICE!!! After we told and showed them to the staff there is something inside there icecream, they told us they're really sorry about it and offerd the Same ICE cream with styrofoam inside???.we checked the other icecream's. It was everywhere. On every single icecream !!! They didnt even remove the icecream of there Shop. They Just stacked the old icecream on top of the New ice. so there is still styrofoam on The icecream, The Manager didnt Care about it. We ordered two cups: a small one with strawberry flavor and a medium one with yogurt-strawberry and stracciatella. Unfortunately, the strawberry flavor didn’t convince us: the color was too pale, the taste felt artificial and chemical, and it completely lacked the authentic fruit flavor. It definitely needs more real fruit to be considered proper gelato.

The stracciatella was disappointing too: the texture was odd, with tiny grainy bits that felt like flour and ruined the creaminess of the gelato.

The yogurt-strawberry flavor was the only one we really enjoyed: it tasted like real yogurt, and the presence of small pieces of real strawberry was a pleasant surprise.
