This Tapas Bar was crowded for the lunch hour when my husband and I looked inside. We found a table for 2. Immediately after we sat down -- even before ordering drinks—2 Paella Tapa portions were placed in front of us. I told the server they were not ours, and it turned out they belonged to the table behind us. We placed our orders, and our server did not write anything down, consequently she got the order wrong. (I ordered in Spanish, so it’s not lost in translation because Spanish is my 1st language.)
I ordered 1 Paella Tapa, and she brought 2 steaming hot plates of Paella Tapa portions. I told her it was ok, we’ll keep it, but we had no cutlery. I had to get up and ask for that, delivery of which took a few minutes as the rice cooled. The seafood in the paella was surprisingly generous, a redeeming factor for the poor service.
I had also ordered the half portion of fried squid (Chocos) and it was very salty, but fresh and flavorful. Our chicken skewer tapa never arrived but what was received instead was a grilled breast of chicken, and it was tasty. A Tortilla Espanola was placed in front of us. When I protested that I did not order it, she took it to the table behind us. At this point I told her to forget our Croquette Tapa order, and it seemed she was hearing that item for the first time.
Lower your expectations, in other words, be surprised if what you order is placed in front of you. The service is a 1. The food is a 4. I guess they don’t have to try very hard due to having a tourist clientele that will not be repeat...
Read moreWe had a really bad time at here, and it was mostly because of the rude server. He was an older man, probably in his 40s, super skinny, and grumpy from the start. First, he ignored us for a while, and when we finally got seated, he tossed two menus at our table like we were bothering him—even though we had five people in our group!
When he took our order, he acted annoyed and rushed us. Then, he spilled some Coke on the table and didn’t even say sorry or clean it up. The food was okay, but nothing special. The calamari was the only thing worth eating.
When we asked for the check, we had to wait and ask again, which made him even angrier. My mom went up to pay because she needed to use the bathroom, but he snapped at her to go back to the table, which made me really mad, but I stayed calm.
When I tried to give him the credit card, he glared at me and told me to put it on the table instead of just taking it from my hand. After he used the card machine, he gave us a rude thumbs up and walked off without even saying thank you or anything.
I don’t usually write negative reviews, but this server ruined our experience in Sevilla. If you go to La Tradicional, I hope you don’t have to deal with him!
Edit: I found a picture of him from another review and...
Read moreAVOID!! Only given it one star because zero is not an option. It’s a tourist trap. Extremely rude staff and tiny portions (wish I took photos) of barely edible food. We were stood on the front looking at the menu and was then given an English menu to look at by a member of staff. After looking at his we decided to sit down and was then ignored for 10minutes(this is when we should have left). When we were finally seen to the waiter was rude and impatient, not even paying attention to us when we were ordering. We ordered 3 tapas, none of which came at the same time. Portions were pathetic. Came with a babies handful of cold tasteless chips. We finished the food and were still hungry but we weren’t going to waste any more money here. Sat for about 10 minutes being looked at by all the waiters wondering by yet no one took the food away. In the end we had to get the attention of one waiter and ask him for the bill. I was annoyed then but even more annoyed now that I’ve got back and realised i was charged for the bread that we didn’t even touch. After reading other reviews on here I can see this is what they must do. Rip people off, charge them for things they didn’t even eat and be rude to paying customers. Listen to the 1star reviews and go...
