We were recommended to Casa de la Guitarra by the tour bike company we used to explore Seville. There were several different Flamenco performances in Seville and we weren't sure which one would be more authentic. When we asked SeeByBike who to see, they said you must go to Casa de la Guitarra and we're glad we did. It's a smaller venue, maximum 50-60 people, and our event was 100% full. Tickets were about 17 euro each. Performance was incredible with guitar, an older man signing and a lady dancing a few songs. An hour isn't long enough! You get seated in the same order tickets are sold, and our only suggestions to the company are that if you sit on the far right, you can't see the stage property as the concrete pillars jut out a bit in front of the stage. Perhaps remove that last row of seating or move the stage a little more into the centre of the room. As well, tier the seating on an angle bit as any seats after the second row can't see the dancer's footwork. And please do not allow photos with cellphones (the company says photos are ok, but videos aren't), as it takes away from the show and stops others from enjoying it. Highly recommend this Flamenco show to anyone...
Read moreOne of the best experiences I’ve ever had, truly one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Spain. The host had pretty good English, though his humour was pretty cheesy! The chemistry between the performers was just amazing, especially the spark between the guitarist and the singer. The dancer had so much emotion, it was captivating to watch her and it gave me a real feel of the art. The tension in the air was palpable every time she performed. I really liked that it was such a small, intimate venue, there was really nothing to distract you from the wonderful performances (if anything could). Book your tickets well in advance to get really good seats, we got ours 2/3 weeks in advance and were right in front of the stage. They do discourage you from taking videos which I completely understand. This isn’t the type of thing you watch on a screen. You have to be there to witness it, and this is definitely the...
Read moreHaving never been to a flamenco performance before , we found ourselves completely immersed in the hour long show. The 3 people on stage gave of themselves entirely to make it a feel like a very intimate occasions .Rhythmically, sonically and visually it had everything , with an almost telepathic chemistry between singer/ timekeeper, guitarist and dancer. I'll make it my business to research more on the performances because the feelings being portrayed by the dancer and vocalist particularly gave a great sense of emotions , maybe loss, hurt and anger. Would definitely recommend going to this show. Also we'd like to say that the young girl advertising the show the day before was extremely helpful as she wasn't overly pushy which we prefer and also let us see the venue beforehand which all helped sell the experience to us....
