We stayed close to Barrabas and it looked busy and was well reviewed so we decided to give it a try.
I can tell you that the food was nice, but the overall experience was Kafkaesque.
We wanted smaller dishes of tapas, but these aren’t served in the main restaurant, only in the bar area. This wasn’t explained to us and by the time we worked this out, the bar area was full.
We were provided the luxury of one menu between the four of us, plus three forks. We managed to get through the complexities of the menu - no mean feat - but when we asked for cutlery, the waiter looked baffled. He returned shortly with one knife and an additional fork. We explained that we would like more knives, and were met again with bafflement before he disappeared, returning only after his third attempt with a complete compliment of cutlery.
I asked for a wine list, which took aeons to arrive. Halfway through the meal the table next to us asked for a wine list and the waiter promptly removed ours from under my nose without ever asking for my order, so we went without wine.
We would have stayed for the evening but quickly decided we’d enjoy ourselves more elsewhere so we left and had a lovely time at a bar...
Read moreEnglish menu is inaccurate Ordered a angus beef burger 20 euros and received a beef patty that tastes like it was bought from the supermarket with barely any chips and a salad that takes up half the plate. if you are going to have a burger on the menu then actually make a burger and clarify that it’s not a burger but a meat patty. The staff where very rude because we spoke english and actually shrugged us off and walked away when i was asking a question. Also after looking at reviews we noticed that we were served lower quality meals, we ordered a potato and prawn salad and it looked nothing like the photos of past customers looked like a pile of slop. I’ve never left a bad review for a restaurant till now because this was truly the worst place i’ve been in europe. After posting this review i’ve had to come back because there is actually food or something in the bottom of my drink...
Read moreWhat an absolute joke of a restaurant. I’ve had better tapas out of a supermarket fridge. The service was beyond terrible — the waiters couldn’t have been less interested if they tried, and their attitude toward English customers was downright hostile. From the moment we sat down, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests.
We were ignored for ages, then when we finally did get served, plates were dumped on the table without a word, like they couldn’t get rid of us fast enough. The food itself? Tasteless, greasy, and a complete embarrassment for a city that’s supposed to be the home of great tapas. Honestly, if this was my first experience of Spanish food, I’d never touch it again.
There are countless amazing places to eat in Seville — this is not one of them. Avoid like the plague unless you enjoy bad food, rude service, and being made to feel...
