Ok. So most people think that tacos, burritos and quesadillas are real Mexican food. It’s not. That’s tex mex and I am a huge fan of it - just saying because you won’t find them here. This place had dishes that I’ve never ever seen before and I am sooooo glad we managed to get a table as walk ins at 8:45 ish pm. By 9:15 place was packed. The decor is crazy af but on point. It’s Mexican to the max. And thank god there were No sugar skulls anywhere to be seen. The guava drink ( non alcoholic) was one of the best refreshing drinks I’ve had in AAAAGES ! The service was great. 2 ppl at front 2 at the back - well done guys - you managed to produce dishes and drink with super speed. Which is most of the time a huge negative. Not in this case. Well … I do feel that alcoholic drinks are pre mixed so maybe see how you can improve that and maybe make them fresh to order. It does make a difference. Food was soo awesome. Every dish was new to us. We didn’t know what to expect. And we were so pleased with each of the dishes we had. It had flavour- depth - more complex notes and it was exciting. I found myself kinda dancing in my seat and humming the music while I hoovered this food down. The salsa on the side is great idea. If it was up to me I’d like it more hotter ( spicier) then the ones you have so maybe introduce a spicier option for those that like it. NOTE : the pics I’ve taken don’t do justice to these dishes. So look past that please -must have been the position of the lights. So don’t judge them based...

The drink menu at La Cantina Mexicana is a standout, featuring great micheladas and spectacular margaritas. The micheladas are perfectly balanced, offering a refreshing and savory kick, while the margaritas are expertly crafted, bursting with bold, tangy flavors that complement the rich taste of tequila. Whether you prefer your margaritas classic or with a twist, they are sure to impress.

When it comes to the food, La Cantina Mexicana truly shines. The Mexican dishes are wonderful, prepared with authentic recipes and high-quality ingredients. Although we didn’t have a reservation, the staff graciously accommodated us, which was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, though, as this place gets quite busy — and after experiencing the food and atmosphere, it’s easy to see why!

The Taco al Pastor and Guacamole are absolute standouts. The tacos were perfectly seasoned, with tender, flavorful meat that practically melts in your mouth, and the guacamole was fresh, creamy, and had just the right amount of zest. Every bite felt like a trip to the heart of authentic Mexican cuisine, and you can tell the ingredients are top-notch.

As for the decor, it was honestly breathtaking. The ambiance was vibrant yet cozy, with stylish touches that really elevate the whole dining experience. It’s the kind of place that feels inviting and warm, perfect for a night out with friends or a casual dinner with family.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we can’t wait to return. Make sure to book ahead if you can, but either way, don’t miss out on those tacos and guacamole — they’re...
