La Gallina Bianca — Restaurant in Seville

I am visiting my brother who lives in Seville. I am coming from Canada. My brother was excited about taking me to this restaurant. We all ordered pizza. I had the Quattro fromaggi and the bresaola pizza - sharing with my mother. The pizza was excellent. We all loved the food.

The reason why I have given the 3 stars is because of the service mainly.

1- when I first arrived to the restaurant, I went to the washroom and there was no soap there. I told the waitress about it and she thanked me. When I finished my meal after 1 hour, I went back and to wash my hands, and to my surprise, there was no soap. A big disappointment and lack of responsibility. 2- very much disorganized about servicing the meals. They served 3 out of 5 dishes and took a long time to get the salad to my brother. Also he had to wait a long time and follow-up multiple times to get his main meal pizza. 3- asked for the bill and we were ignored by the waitress. We had to order it again from another waitress. 4- they charged us 7.5euros for bread while they didn’t even bring bread to the table. This was fixed by the waitress when we pointed it out. But it was a sign of chaos. 5- the lady behind the bar serving drinks was constantly banging empty glass bottles in containers and making a lot of noise. A sign of incompetence and inconsideration to customers. It was really annoying and at times makes you jump.

Too bad from an experience point of view, because the idea is to enjoy the delicious meal but there were too many inconveniences outside the...

We went for the good reviews and the lovely atmosphere of the restaurant. They must have had a different chef tonight. We ordered two pasta dishes and they were both WAY TOO SALTY, so much we couldn't eat them. I ordered the bill and let the waiter know it was inedible just as a good gesture, unfortunately we got a very bad attitude from him saying that people have different tastes. Two ladies sitting next to us also complained about their pasta being salty and the waiter went to explain that their carbonara had parmesan and bacon henceforth the saltiness of their dishes. At that point i just wanted to pay for the bill so i could drink some water elsewhere, my mouth is still shriveled with the amount of salt I ate, and we only had a couple spoonfuls of it. Bottom line is if one customer complains just apologise, if two customers complain take notice, if four costumers complain which was the case, hire another chef. Trying to convince everyone in the restaurant they've got bad taste for food is just disgraceful. I understand sometimes food can go wrong, but having a bad attitude is not going to make your food better! Such a shame because the restaurant looks lovely. That doesn't make it up for bad food...

We came here with a local who had heard great things but never gone...we were very disappointed and will not be returning.

The pasta all looked great but the taste was awful. I got the fusilli pesto and couldn’t eat more than a bite. The pizza was nothing special and the same for the seafood pasta. The waiters were not at all attentive. And they were not accommodating when I asked if there was a way to add protein even if I had to pay for it on the side. He told me no straight away. It wasn’t so much that they said no but the way they did it. VAT is not included in the price so you will pay an additional 10% on the bill. This just leaves a bad taste in your mouth if you don’t read the fine print.

The only thing to save this story is that the starter we ordered was incredible. It was so so good and I’d go back to just eat that but nothing else.
