I have visited this restaurant twice, once for dinner and once for lunch, and the two experiences were completely different. Dinner: My first visit was for dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was one of the best I have ever experienced. Everything felt professional and welcoming, and I left very impressed. Lunch (today): My lunch visit today, however, was a completely different story. The staff was very young, rude, and unprofessional. Thinking customers would not understand Spanish, they were openly making fun of people who had just finished their meals and left, which was extremely disrespectful. I had ordered a plate-size portion but was mistakenly given a tapas instead. It was a small misunderstanding that could have easily been handled politely. Instead, they simply added a bit of meat next to the tapas and brought me a plate with food of uneven temperatures, clearly smaller than the regular plate-size portion. I know this because I had eaten the same dish there before. After paying, I politely mentioned that the portion was not the usual size. The waiter abruptly replied, “No, it is.” When I told him that this was not the correct way to respond to a customer, he acted very arrogantly dismissive and condescending. Recommendation: Go for dinner if you want good service and a pleasant experience. Even though it is more crowded, the staff in the evening is much more professional. I would avoid coming for lunch until the management improves the attitude and behavior of the...
Read moreSometimes you don't like to share special places, you know you just might create an even busier place. I'd 4 days in Seville tying up some decades old business. I stayed nearby and wondered the area very late on a Sunday night. This place was packed then. Monday early evening was the same, and I just managed to get in to stand up for a beer. Tuesday early evening finally got the last seat at the bar.
What had already stood out was the staff, who despite being under pressure, had always been joyful, friendly, professional and extremely hard working. Having worked in hospitality for 25 years, not much pleases me more than seeing superb staff. Anna your ever fixed smiling face, greeting everyone even when under huge pressure will live long in my memory of an exceptional experience. The quality of food is just sensational, all produced from a tiny egg box kitchen. how I've no idea!! The menu and specials board is imaginative, a far cry from the typical usual Seville tapas fayre, ( not a chickpea & spinach /patatas bravas in sight.) Modernised contemporary fusion of continents dishes which excite, delight and as for value for money are simply stunning. No wonder guests are queuing to get in, this wonderful unpretentious place. Boss how about put the prices up pay the staff more?.😀 This simply is a gem of a place. Thank you all for a brilliant time. Hope I've not shot myself inner the foot and can actually get in...
Read moreLooking for lunch or dinner? La Bartola is a fantastic choice! It's small and usually crowded but definitely worth the visit. We've been in Savilla for a week now and have tried multiple places but we keep coming back to La Bartola. Fernando has been our server for lunch at least twice and has treated us very well. This evening for dinner, Samara took care of us. I'm learning Spanish, she was very patient and we had no difficulties. The food is hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions are perfect for the price. I've had the Ternera de Retinto multiple times, it comes on the rare side so tonight I asked if it could be cooked a little more. It was perfect. The Tabla de Quesos was a cheese lovers delight. Also had the Jamon Iberico which is served with bread. I've had Jamon from a few other tapas bars this week, and I do like the flavor here the best. I was a little disappointed though that there wasn't more of it. Me esposa had the Arroz Rojo, it was hot and full of flavor. I've also enjoyed the Lamb and Cous-Cous for lunch, the lamb was tender and flavorful. The Cous-Cous was was spicy (not hot spice) and a little sweet. Taste is always subjective, but I can say that each of the dishes we've had were nice to look at and definitely delicious. Be patient with the staff especially when it's busy, they will get to...
