So, the service here was spectacular. Very professional and more than willing to do whatever they could to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The location is very good. Plaza dining, right outside the main entrance. Breakfast was adequate. The orange juice was delicious. Valet parking and a gratuitous bottle of cava after a slight unfortunate room issue.
The room it’s self was a bit odd and is not the location one would choose if you are a person who turns in prior to 12:01, AM or if you have mobility concerns. We were located in C-1 and the room its self was very nice. Excellent Sqm, private outdoor patio, personal balcony overlooking the hotel courtyard, bath area is completely separate from the sleeping quarters with a walk in shower.
As you enter the room you turn right, in order to make your way into the sleeping quarters and there are two steps, that take you down in to the sleeping area with the closet hanging area situated along the wall, right where the steps are located.
It is inevitably that you will be standing retrieving or placing items from/into the closet and step down off of the steps. If you are a person that dose not possess quick reflexes, this is not the room for you.
Also, this hotel has a fantastic roof top bar,🤗🤗 however, there are two flights of metal stairs leading up to the roof top and the stairs are connected to the exterior wall of the C-1 room. You will, know every time someone negotiates these steps. The bar stops serving drinks at 12:00 AM.
All that said, we did ask for a room change however was much smaller in Sqm, it had no walk-in shower, which we needed and the A/C system is on a central system and was not adequate for us, in order to sleep. (It gets very hot in Sevilla) Room C-1 has its own A/C unit and can chill the room, to a point of even being too cold. We, chose the lesser of the evils, the next day and returned to the C-1 room.
I tell you all of this, not as a ding on the hotel but simply that you are aware, should you be assigned this room. For me personally, it is very stressful to have to call the front desk personnel and explain your situation worried that they are going to assume, you are someone who cannot be satisfied, which simply isn’t the case.
We were at this location with others and their rooms had no issues, what so ever. The hotel overall is close to perfection. I just would not choose this...
Read moreThe first thing I need to mention is how supportive, understanding & helpful the hotel was last year when our little dog became seriously unwell. It was an upsetting & stressful time where we had to cancel two holidays in one. Thankfully the staff at Hotel Rey Alfonzo X allowed us to exchange our stay to another time and gave us a voucher. We really appreciated this as we really wanted to visit Seville and stay at their hotel - so THANK YOU!!!||We loved the rooftop pool and cocktail bar! The temperatures were around 40 degrees when we visited, so we were able to cool off in the pool and relax under the umbrellas on the sun loungers. Then, we always had afternoon cocktails at the bar during the afternoons and in the evenings. Thankfully they had huge fans which kept the heat at bay!||The breakfast was beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious choice that was on offer each morning. Sometimes we don’t bother with breakfast at the hotels we stay in - but we made sure we went down every morning to this lovely spread! Very professional.|The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant for evening meals.||Our suite was very good too! We treated ourselves and we weren’t disappointed. Only a few steps away from the rooftop pool & bar, so very handy indeed!|The room was extremely spacious and we loved the decor.|The shower was excellent and there was a bath too with fluffy dressing gowns & slippers.|The chairs in the lounge area were quite hard and wooden - a soft couch would’ve been more inviting (only a minor observation).||The hotel is centrally located by the cathedral, and there are lots of restaurants and bars near by. Amazing tapas everywhere! |Everything was in walking distance - so an excellent spot!||There are a few areas on the roof tops with sun loungers - so get up there and explore! Lots of hidden nooks & secret spots! |The hotel is split by a large court yard, which means there are two parts to it connected in the middle - so you might miss the Solarium area if you don’t investigate thoroughly! Another space to sunbathe and then shower down afterwards.||There are wonderful rooftop views at the top of the hotel! Lovely to see all the church spires pointing up! The evening views are great too!||Thank you for our complimentary bottle of bubbles! Hick!||We’ll certainly be back!...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for a short break in Seville to celebrate a significant birthday.
We were given a third floor room that was opposite a small lively square. The double glazing needs some attention (doors not closing properly and ineffective against noise) as we were woken around midnight by the sound of a street cleaning machine cleaning the pavement area outside. This was followed by bins being emptied, then later wheelie bins being emptied and yet more street cleaning vehicles. We eventually managed some sleep some time after 2am.
We complained in the morning, which resulted in us being given a courtyard room at the back of the hotel which thankfully was very quiet. It’s disappointing that having asked for a quiet room we hadn’t received this initially. By way of an apology the hotel sent around a bottle of Cava in the evening which was gratefully received.
The hotel otherwise was very nice, helpful staff, clean and tidy, with a good spread for breakfast. There is a charming roof terrace with bar and a pool. The location is perfect for site seeing with plenty to see a short walk away. If bringing a car, especially a large one we recommend you get the Hotel’s directions to their car park as there are some very narrow roads in the hotel’s location.
Will definitely stay again, assuming we can book the quiet room at the back...
