This was our safe harbor in a storm! We made the mistake of visiting Seville before Easter, and the second mistake of going into the center for dinner. The city was full, streets packed like sardines in a tin and really sort of scary and unpleasant being so incredibly crowded.
We decided that there was no way of escape at that time of night, so we looked for anywhere we could take refuge for an hour or two and hopefully enjoy some cocktails as well.
We hadn't been planning to visit this spot, but the LED sign saying cocktails outside the bar called to us and we were immediately relieved from the crushing crowds and welcomed into a quiet, modern space.
We ended staying up til close!
Service was good, and the welcome drink and table water were very much appreciated. I decided on the Naked, not only as it is their namesake, but also it seemed to be the only cocktail that wasn't overly sweet. And I love mezcal.
It wasn't the best cocktail I've ever had, but it was tasty enough. Sweet, but not too much.
The space is basically 3 areas all with different vibes. The blue front room is chill, intimate and dark, allowing groups and couples to relax in comfy seats. It's where most people sit. We saw many different types of people here, tourists and locals. The pink room is very modern and spacious. Cool design, almost sci-fi meets midcentury modern. And then there's the bar area which is where we ended up after enjoying the blue room.
Everyone working was awesome. Very friendly and great at what they did. They were so fun to chat with, and we got to look at all the interesting and unique liquors. I tried some more signature cocktails and some classics and all hit the right notes for what I expected, but I wasn't totally wowed by all of them. They do classics perfectly.
But really what sets this place apart is the staff. They took a sort of crazy night and made it very memorable and put us in great moods. That can be a difficult thing to do.
Loved our time here, and will definitely be back...
Read moreThis is a really cool looking bar and the service was quite good all things considered. Welcome cocktail was nice and the addition of water without asking (unique for spain for sure)
We order two cocktails from the first page (peach paper plane & naked by naked) two riffs of classic cocktails and the thing that killed them is, not only were the cocktails worse tasting than the drink was trying to riff on (the finish on peach paper plane was nice) but they just ended up being incredibly unbalanced. “Peach paper plane” was way too sweet and astringent in an unpleasant way and “naked by naked” had an odd balance of smoke/acid/herbaceous/sweet that made me wish I just ordered a naked and famous.
To me it tasted as if the bartender didn’t try the drink before they put them out. I find it hard to recommend them for cocktails because I don’t know if I would trust them. But for highballs, beers, and simple spirit drinks the service and atmosphere is great.
The servers were very kind. We paid our bill and left after drinking maybe 2-3 sips each. They asked if we like the drinks, I was honest and they offered to remake. But to me I just wish they got them nailed the first time. It’s disappointing that this is the most highly rated cocktail bar in seville. Especially knowing the countries history with phenomenal...
Read moreIf you want to drink the best cocktails in the city, our advice will be @nakedandfamous_ . This place, which is not very attractive from the outside, does a good job with its cocktails, design and concept. They described Abril (€12) as Citric, Herbal, Smoky, one of the cocktails they presented with the signature of Cisco Rodriguez. Fig Mezcal, Martini Fiero, Moscatel Sherry, Yellow Chartreuse, Misket created a cocktail that we liked very much. Another good aperitif cocktail is Cuesta del Calvario (€10). Ingredients: Palo Cortado Sherry, Homemade White Vermouth, Pineapple, Thyme, Plum. We cannot say prices are cheap but they shine like a star next to other so many bad...
