Edit after reply: Rather that say very sorry for the experience, don't challenge customers on such basics. Making chips isn't rocket science, but the kitchen failed and you man decided to try tell me I was wrong. Shame on you. Also, the octopus didn't have any seasoning at all. It came cold and rubbery. Oh there are many things we can add if we really want to explain how overrated the place is ... ..... original review..... Nice venue, relaxed decor I had given this 4, but after a nice experience we visited again The octopus was absent of taste or seasoning Oxtail croquettes were ok. But the chips were part cooked. The waiter then came to our table and forcefully tried to tell me it must of been a potato or odd chip uncooked. Nonsense, the portion he brought were not edible. How can you mess up basics and argue about it. Also, they messed up drink orders multiple times. I cannot recommend this place. Do not challenge customers, especially over something as basic as uncooked chips. Shameful.

After reading the reviews, it appears you either love this place or you hate this place. Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience with tardy service, although nice staff. Mainly, there was a huge let down with food. We ordered a number of Spanish dishes including scrambled eggs which was fried eggs with potatoes, chicken and chips where the chicken was evidently overcooked and very dry and a number of tapas including the traditional dogfish dish. We also ordered the octopus which was rubbery and again, overcooked. The cold cuts weren't thinly sliced which was disappointing and they also didn't have big glasses of water which meant we had to order a number of small 300-330mL bottles. The highlight was the goat cheese salad and the gazpacho was also nice. Serving sizes are quite large which is also a perk and prices are reasonable. Restaurant is nicely decorated and there was a line to get a table, but you may want to consider another Spanish tapas restaurant for your visit.

✨We came around 7pm with a group of about 8 to enjoy tapas and wine 🍷 ✨We ordered the Paella, garlic prawns, ox tail, and fried anchovies. We also had like 5 bottles of wine. ✨The restaurant was lively, full of energy, people laughing, conversing, and having a great time. If you are looking for a peace and quiet meal, this is NOT the place. I really love the decorations with all the bulls on the wall. ✨ I thoroughly enjoyed the garlic prawns and the fried anchovies. My wife loved her ox tail. I didn’t really care for the mixed paella 🥘 ✨ Definitely would return for the garlic prawns. One of the best we’ve ever had. The wine was pretty good as well. The price were fair and the service was decent. The energy of the restaurant was the best and so fun to go here to hang out with a group of close friends and just have a great time 🍻🍷

My husband and I were looking for a nice place near the city center for dinner and decided on Pelayo based on its reviews. Our first impression was that it’s a beautiful restaurant in a great location. We were quickly seated at a table near the entrance upon arrival. We were excited to try the food, but the staff were not enthusiastic about introducing the menu. They simply placed the menus on our table and returned later to take our orders. The food was decent but not impressive, deserving a 3-star rating for quality. The customer service was disappointing, as the staff made no effort to engage with us. We finished our meal, requested the bill, and left. Getting the bill took some time, as the staff seemed to have forgotten about us, despite the restaurant not being very busy.

Nice restaurant near the Alcazar and Seville cathedral. Good spot to have a meal after visiting the two spots, especially after climbing up the tower in the cathedral. One of the best thing in this restaurant here is that the waiter and waitress can speak some English which helps the interaction and selection of food. I was a little disappointed with the garlic prawns tho because the taste of garlic was slightly bland and not as prominent as I would wished for from most of other restaurants in Seville. I was also misunderstood that the crispy pork shoulder with mushroom thinking that I should have physical mushrooms but ended up with just mushrooms sauce. The octopus tentacle is nice tho, even the ketchup sort of make it a little like eating McD.

An extraordinary place for tapas with a sort of rustic vibe. We got a couple of plates, maybe even too many. Portions were bigger than expected. Our personal favourites and recommendations include the fried camembert, the grilled pork sirloin in whisky sauce (sauce is quite oily so maybe not for everyone), the braised pork cheek and the Iberian pork shoulder with mushroom cream and crispy onion. The salmon tartare was a miss though and the marinated dogfish had a very interesting flavour but just not to our taste. Our server was lovely though, wish we got her name. Other staff members also seemed great. Recommend you head there before 21:00 if you don’t have a reservation.
