The best Selma !!! Selma was real attentive to the client, and the best to try to get to the level that we expected. We went to the most expensive food and wine menu 80+70x2 = 300 being charge 340 with the over of 2 bottles of water and 2 coffeas. The interiors design feels cool and uncomfortable l, the drawings in the walls are cold and the atmosphere dont let you chill to have a perfect moment. Starters arrive in the chefs counter , nice experience but lack of interaction from the SubChef. Chef was not in the house and only the commies chiefs had a smile. As setting up for the 75 pax wine pairing must say it was a surprise to be show only Andalusian wines, those were surprising but never get you to a peak, trying trying and after dull moments when It seems getting there …… no finish wine offer to the petit fours , major desapointing or only lack of care from the front of the house … Best pairing the desert lemon tart , overall 2/5 for 70 per pax, please note that the wines are being served in the wrong tempers has the normal Sevillan client is to hot, thought the wines are over chilled. Food wise nice starters wishing to go further very dull intermediary moments(beautiful sauce that totally ruin the scallops; green peas moment did not like it resemble road bistro stew but to salty with a mirage of monkfish; the duck rice and amazing concept but very very poor in flavour as is was salty and the flavours don’t lead you there ; as my wife have allergies she got monkfish instead of scallops (terrible chewie) with mushroom, she was terrible disappointed ) final dishes were ok and deserts very good. Only Selma ask if we were enjoying the food in the chocolate wich was the final moment, finally I was able to tell my thoughts even telling for the sub chef to came to the table( as the chef is away) if it was his desire wich did not happen. Final moment to pay and no one is looking need to get up to the door to have some attention ( literally I need to click on the keyboard to someone to notice that we want to leave) …….. we we’re satisfied but it could be so mutch better …. Jon , friendly but we the clients were the ones that need to gain his attention, probably not in his level? Confusing …… probably just a bad day as only 3 tables being served but not paying attention from the front and back if the house was very bad …. Selma was the only one that gives us comfort and this score is for her. In the overall I would say food 3/5 wines 3/5 service 1/5 decor 1/5 chef 1/5 ( not present but totally lacking of what we expected) Selma 5/5 - This gives a total of 2/5 Take care and keep improving if you care about coustmour service for myself after spending 340 for 2 pax …… I will wait for the main chef to...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at what is supposed to be a fine dining Michelin guide restaurant. Despite the high ratings and steep price (€90 + €45 for wine pairing), the 4+ hour dinner didn’t meet expectations.
The appetizers lacked flavor and quality: The beef brioche was bland. The cod fritter was average and unremarkable. The gazpacho cracker tasted store-bought. The orange-infused butter’s flavor was barely noticeable. The langoustine salad was fine, but nothing special.
A few dishes were better: The oyster paired nicely with the seasoning (though the Iberian jowl felt overcooked and tasted like char siu) The scallops, cod tripe, and red mullet were the standouts. The Iberian tenderloin was flavorful.
However, there were some mismatches: The squid with beef stew didn’t match well with the source and was quite salty While the duck was well-prepared, it didn’t pair well with the charred rice, which was too bitter. Surprisingly, none of the wines complemented the dishes well.
The dessert course also disappointed: There was a 30-minute wait after the main dishes, which felt excessive. The lemon dessert was average, and the chocolate dessert was passable. The petit fours were ordinary and didn’t live up to fine dining expectations.
Overall, I’d rate the food 3/5, but the slow service brought the overall experience down to 2/5. The staff was friendly, but the significant delays between courses extended the meal unnecessarily. No gestures were made to mitigate the wait, which is something you’d expect at this price point.
For the cost, it didn’t feel worth it. I have had better tasting menu at...
Read moreWe were able to enjoy a wonderful experience at Manzil. It was a Thursday early afternoon and we had wonderful service and the food was on point. All of the dishes were beautifully prepared and pleasing to the eye, and then there were some amazing flavor profiles that the team knocked out of the park. We enjoyed the long menu and the duck and rice dish is one we will talk about for years to come. The rice that served as the base for this dish was like the best bit of the rice that sticks to the bottom in a paella. The horseradish mayo complemented the richness of the duck and the complexity of the rice. The buñuelo of cod was also an experience to remember. The soft and slightly sweet breading gave way to he most wonderful creamy, slightly fishy, almost full stew in your mouth flavor! The experience felt like it was over too quick but the feeling lingered. The last dish to note is the first of the dessert course. I wasn't sure what to expect with apple, quince and cheese, but oh my! The goat's cheese mousse over the applesauce was so delicate, perfectly sweet, and not at all overpowering in its goat cheese flavor. Then, the little sweetened puff pastry square with quince preserve that was not too sweet, but delicately balanced. To finish it off, there are these beautifully acidic apple cubes that bring the absolute perfect, epic balance to this dish. I could have just eaten 10 courses of that and been content! This restaurant definately deserves the recognition that...
