We ate here in early June ‘22 after a brief search for good restaurants in the Triana neighborhood. We wanted to get away from the touristy restaurants across the river and Victoria 8 did not let us down! We’re a family of 5 (3 adult children) who spent 2 weeks traveling in Spain this was a unanimous choice for our favorite meal on the entire trip. Not necessarily a bargain compared to the more touristy restaurants but the quality of the food, service and overall vibe was perfect for us. Our waiter, Fausto, was amaziing, and this in spite of the fact that the restaurant was hosting a retirement party for easily 40+ guests in the main dining room. We managed to get a table in a side room which was perfect. The seafood paella was so delicious we literally have not ordered paella anywhere since because we know it will be a let down. While definitely not a touristy restaurant note that the prices aren’t a whole lot different than those across the river, but worth every penny...

Last night, we visited this restaurant. At first, everything seemed fine. The wine and beer were ordinary, but the paella was actually quite good! Not perfect, but tasty. When it came to desserts, we ordered a mix of different ones. They brought us a plate with five different desserts, and one of them was not just stale but moldy (the sponge in the cake had a gray-green hue, was uneven in texture, and had the distinct taste of mold)! When we called the waiter, he calmly asked if we wanted to finish the other desserts on the plate. No apologies were made for the poor quality of the dish, though at least the dessert wasn’t included in the bill. After this incident, I started doubting the quality of all the food prepared in...

Having spent the evening trying to find a local restaurant we were so excited to stumble upon Victoria 8. They were very kind to squeeze us in but this is where the good news ended. Everything we ordered was a disappointment, as meal after meal arrived as one variation after another of crisps and eggs. Patatas fritas = crisps, despite the English translation saying chips Ratatouille = tomato sauce over crisps with fried eggs ... for €12!! (See photo) Bacalau = more egg and crisps with so little fish the vegetarians amongst us could have tucked in. We had a laugh as, appreciating we are tourists, we can't expect all translations to be perfect, but if you do visit then please check carefully what you are ordering!!

We ate here on 30 March 2022, four of us, and had the paella. Delicious, and the service was wonderful. They kept checking on us to make sure we were enjoying the food and service, and they also gave us some empanadas made with partridge (first time we ever tried it) as an appetizer while we waited for the main course, directly brought to us by the chef. All in all, this is a place to enjoy a wonderful dinner with friends and family when visiting Seville. In case you did not know, Spaniards eat late, and dinner is a social event, don't go to this place before 8:30 PM, as with any other place where you expect to dine-in, it's the norm.

Gambas al ajillo con aguacate stole the show! Absolutely amazing. Rabo de toro was also delicious, very juicy. The solomillo was unfortunately a bit dry. Service was quite slow, we didn’t mind as we were enjoying but the dishes took 15-20 minutes in between the first and second to come out, the final 2 took 25. They were very busy when we arrived so we understood. That being said the waiter and waitress were very kind. Still enjoyed the experience.
