I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at La Famiglia, and I was sorely disappointed. From the service to the food, there were issues on every front.
My initial interaction with the waiter left a negative impression. His disrespectful behavior and lack of politeness were completely unacceptable in a place that describes itself as a 'family' restaurant. He lacked the basic courtesies that are standard in any dining establishment, such as a friendly greeting and attentive service.
The food, ostensibly the star of any restaurant, continued this disappointing trend. Never in my life have I seen portions so minuscule. It was more akin to a toddler's portion rather than a full paying adult, and I was left feeling more hungry than satiated. The menu promised 'spanish hospitality' - well, this Italian was not impressed with a 4.50⏠dish that consisted of just four small baked potatoes.
The fish was also disappointing to say the least. Rather than the fresh catch one would reasonably expect at an Spanish eatery, the fish came straight from a supermarket freezer. This definitely impacted the quality of the meal and left a lot to be desired.
Last but not least, the wait staff were unresponsive when I pointed out that the plate they had brought was intended for my dining companion and not for myself. The waitress was seemingly unwilling or unable to understand simple instructions and flatly refused to switch the plates. This again underscored the lack of courtesy and attention to customer satisfaction at La Famiglia.
In conclusion, my experience at La Famiglia was certainly nothing to write home about - unless you're warning others to stay away. The quality of food was well below average, the portions were remarkably small, the service was significantly lacking in respect and attentiveness. I won't be recommending La Famiglia to anyone, and can only say that this was a true...
Read moreMy recent trip to La Familia was not just unfortunate, it was downright appalling. From the service to the food, every aspect of my experience was riddled with let downs and disappointments.
My first encounter with the waiter was disrespectful to a shocking degree. His disdainful attitude and complete disregard for basic courtesy was not only unexpected but downright disgraceful for an establishment that brands itself as a 'family' restaurant. The bare minimum courtesies you'd expect even in a cafeteria, such as a simple greeting or attentive service, were glaringly absent.
The food, which should ideally be the highlight of any restaurant, only added to my dismay. The proportions were shockingly meager, more suited for a toddler's meal than an adult's. For an Italian used to hearty meals, this so-called 'Spanish hospitality' was in fact an insult - 4.50⏠for a pitiful dish of measly four tiny baked potatoes.
The fish, which was expected to be fresh and delectable, seemed to have come straight off a supermarket's frozen section. This severely affected the taste and overall quality of the meal, leaving much to be desired.
The shambolic service was the icing on the cake when a blunder with the food placement was met with a flat refusal to make the necessary corrections. Even such a simple task seemed to baffle the waitress leading to yet another display of gross incompetence and complete disregard for customer satisfaction.
This dreadful dinner at La Famiglia can only be seen as a notorious experience, worth sharing as a cautionary tale for others. The quality of the food was appalling, the proportions insultingly small, and the service pitifully subpar. I would certainly not recommend La Famiglia to anyone. In fact, my time there was nothing short of an...
Read moreI really want to give more stars but it was just a disaster from start to finish. We think they were very under pressure - I hope? As otherwise I'd give a lesser rating. It took a while to order, but then waited 40 minutes for our meal to arrive. All fine - I got lasagne - and had a taste, went to put a bit of salt on it & the lid of the salt just fell off & half of it landed on my lasagne - inedible. Now here's the thing - we weren't prepared to wait any longer for another one to be brought out so I took all the top off (nicest part) and accepted my loss.. I did tell the waitress who was, in fairness lovely, but she then insisted on bringing me out a plate of pork in mushroom sauce & chips??? I insisted I didn't want a replacement - certainly not pork as I'm not a fan, but she was so insistent!! It went untouched! The rest was OK, I was more annoyed about the long wait time to be honest. She then brought out a very very delicious portion of tiramisu on the house - much appreciated - and honey rum. Look, our issue wasn't the wonky salt cellar, it was the very long wait. A night...
