We came here on a recommendation by our tour company. The guy who waited on us was so disrespectful that we left without ordering food. We had a reservation for 6 with 1 person being vegan, which was told at the time of reservation. We were seated downstairs at the restaurant where we were the only people there. The waiter was extremely rude and did not make any efforts to help us. When we asked for vegan options, he replied that they only had grilled vegetables in a “take it or leave it” attitude. He then proceeded to tell us there was more options with tapas upstairs. We asked if can order some and he said he already told us this before we came down and now he has to reset the table and wash dishes, blah blah blah bc we can only eat upstairs for tapas. We said we were sorry we didn’t understand initially but the attitude he had were like we were a nuisance and when I walked upstairs he dismissively waved his hand and just told us to sit down at this random empty table. That was it, we were not going to continue to let him bully us with his demeanor. We just paid for the drinks we had ordered and left to eat elsewhere. Not sure if he was being racist because we were asians or was sick of American tourists, whatever the case, this place is NO BUENO! Take your business somewhere else where people are kind.

Going to tell our tour company not to recommend this place to their other clients. Hope they’re not recommending this place due to some type of kick-back.

Not recommended: for vegans for tourists for...

I am a tourist from Hong Kong. My girlfriend and I had a train to catch in an hour. After we told the staff that we were in a hurry, they sped up the dishes significantly. We made it to the train on time due to their hard effort. The staff kept their polite and professional attitude throughout our dining experience despite our unexpected demand. The food we had were the tapas with the egg, the one with the beef steak, and the one with the black waffle (sorry for not remembering the names). The food were absolutely delicious and I would definitely order again if we had the time. The Sangria was also stunning. I was not a tourist that write comments and reviews for reataurants that often. However, this restaurant really impressed me with its unparalleled serving attitude, food quality and dining experience. It was also at a convenient location, just near the "city-sightseeing bus" stop. Super easy to find. I would sincerely recommend this reataurant for everyone. If you are the staff working at this restaurant on 19/6/2024, and that you are reading this comment, I want to say thank you, and your cheesecake really...

It’s very rare I give all 5 stars but this place earned it. The location is off the beaten path but the ambiance is well worthwhile. I see why it’s named La Cave. If you drive here there are two to three parking garages within 3 blocks of the restaurant that are decently priced. The upstairs is a tavern and the downstairs is the restaurant. Our server was Fede who provided outstanding service. His English was 5 times better than my Spanish. When we ordered he actually made the comment he thought it was too much food. I didn’t know if I should have thanked him or been offended. 😂 The tomato and jamon salad was perfectly prepared and tasty. The beef tataki was very flavorful and absolutely delicious. The tuna tataki with tuna tartar was good. The tartar was a bit fatty but the tuna tataki was delicious. The t bone was cut for us which made eating super easy because I never order meat on the bone. The marzipan dessert was very decadent and went well with our cafe’. I would definitely come back here if I visited again and highly recommend this...

Me gustó mucho.

This Restaurant hypnotizes with its beauty and unique architecture. The Roman architecture under the clear floor, how they preserved the Toledo’s beauty is espectacular. The food was delicious and cold beer. The only missing star is for the bad, bad service. We were a group of 8 and just me and my husband speak Spanish. The waiter did not speak English so I offer myself to translate. He just left, after more than 20 minutes we called more than 3 times and nothing. At the end another waiter took 4 of our order. I offered myself again to translate and rude of him told me “ I know how to do my job, I will comeback later for the other 4” After 30 minutes. So, took almost an hour just for appetizers and 2 beers. We didn’t have more time. Sadly I did not have the opportunity to try any other plate from the menu.
