It saddens me to have to write such a negative review in light of all the positive reviews for this place - which was the reason we came and queued for half an hour!
The servers were polite, however massively understaffed and badly communicated. We were here a total of 1.5hours for what could have been a half hour quick bite. I watched a girl wait over half an hour for a croissant - which she had to ask for twice more 🤔.
We ordered two iced coffees specifically with oat milk (as I have a severe intolerance to lactose). An avacado/tomato toastada and a breakfast burrito (w/o bacon). The toastada came with a small spread of avacado, a few tiny tomato pieces and dry salad leaves. I had to ask (twice) for oil and salt - for taste. The burrito was tasteless mush: no seasoning??
We politely spoke to the waiter about the burrito and his response was that they'd not had any complaints about it before.
Also spoke with another waiter asking if the coffee was definitely served with oat milk because after I'd drank some, I started having a bad reaction. He said that's what he ordered. But then later said maybe the "runner" mixed up the order and that he was sorry and would of course replace the drinks. However the damage had been done and I declined any further drinks as by this point I was in pain.
Overall we had a very bad experience here and by the looks of other reviews, we must have just been very unlucky and maybe the staff weren't able to handle the rush and that's why the food was bland and without any dressing... and the wrong milk was used. All disappointing, but the milk mix-up is a serious issue and needs to be investigated so this does not happen to anyone else.
We declined to pay for the coffees, which wasn't a problem (however not offered). And my partner was given a fresh (but warm) orange juice for free. And we were apologised to.
I've never written such a long-winded and negative review before but what was meant to be a great brunch turned out to have spoiled the rest of my day in Valencia!
Update: the food was so tasteless that we were actually concerned that maybe we had covid, so went home and took Rapid Antigen Tests - which thankfully were negative. So what more can I...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant yesterday morning in hopes to see what all the good reviews were about. It was a little busy but we were able to be seated in the outdoor seating area in under 10 minutes. The waiter was at our table within a couple of minutes of being seated and promptly took our order. 2 Cappuccinos, 1 avocado toast and 1 grilled cheese. The cappuccinos came to the table within a couple of minutes and were quite good. We continued to sit for a good 20 minutes without food while the people around us, even some that came after us received their food, ate and left, while we still didn't have our simple order delivered. We caught the attention of one waiter (not the one that that took our order) and he said he would check on the order. Another five minutes went by with no food, no update, and we finally were able to catch the eye of the waiter that took our order. He seemed very confused when we asked where our food was and when we pointed out that the people sitting next to us, that had arrived after us, had eaten and left. He went to the kitchen and came back saying there was a mix-up and that the food was on its way. Clearly he forgot to put the order in. At this point we had been waiting for over 30 minutes and decided we could not patronize a place that employs people that can't follow the simple task they are hired for, like making sure the customer's order gets to the kitchen and they receive their food. With an abundance of other nice restaurants in close vicinity, one would think you would make sure you have capable people on your staff. In any event, we did find another great restaurant around the corner and spent our...
