After my hubby and I passed by this non-descript place multiple times, we decided to get in and support our local biz. Focattina is a sandwich (bocadillo) place, Italian style. The place has pig artwork in various versions: an Elvis pig, a Roman Holiday Pig, a BDSM Pig in pink, a Pig in a suit and tie, etc. Hip.
My hubby ordered “San Matteo” – with roasted eggplant, provolone cheese, roasted tomatoes, and pesto. I ordered the “Carbonara” – lumps of guanciale on parmesan flakes, on a bed spoonful of carbonara cream. I saw it slathered on the ciabatta bread.
This well-trained lady wrapped these sandwiches well and placed them in a panini grill. Afterwards, cut the sandwiches in half, placed it in a brown wrapper, and sealed it with a sticker. I say, it was gift-wrapped!

This is more of a takeout place so no seating if you are looking for a relaxed lunch. However it’s a perfect spot to pick something up in between seeing the monuments in the old town. The owner was very friendly.
