We arrived without reservation, and was greeted seemingly friendly. We sat down and had trouble conversing, even though we both spoke enough Spanish to order food and ask questions about food. We ordered chorizo in red wine, very delicious, bread and cheese/jamon platter. We wanted to order more wine and more tapas.

Single most disrespectful experience when we tried to order again, we were met with extreme irritation and the waitress tried to take our menus away from us when we said wait we wanted to order. They angrily said, you want to order Now?? Now?? As in now?? We didnt understand what happened, but it seemed that the young woman and the boss was fighting earlier or irritation was building.

We were startled and told her to calm down, as she then ran away. We told them to bring our check immediately as we did not want to stay there any longer. It left a sour taste in my mouth, and refused to ever dine or recommend a place like...

La Bodeguilla del Gato is an absolute gem. Without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Valencia. Every single dish was outstanding – beautifully crafted, packed with flavour, and made with top-quality ingredients. You can tell everything is carefully thought through and prepared with real skill and passion.

The service was fantastic: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere is cosy and full of charm, with a well-curated decor that makes you feel instantly at ease.

And the prices? Very fair for the level of quality. It strikes that perfect balance between authenticity, excellence, and enjoyment.

My favourite place for a light dinner! Piementos de padron is a must in this place! It’s the little green peppers cooked to perfection. Second favourite is the chorizo al vino. I eat it and I’m not a big fan of chorizo 😋 The last thing to try is the Salmorejo (cold tomato cream soup). This dish is unique! A taste I never had in my life, very unexpected. You see a cream and in the first bite you have an explosion of fresh tomatoes. Heavy in the eye, light on the tongue. I have to mention also the house wine. It was a mix of Bobal and Merlot.
