I have been debating if I wanted to write a review or just let it go. The food here was honestly quite good, but we had a downright horrible experience. I don't know if we did something to offend our waiter, but from the start he seemed very agitated with us. Our waiter came over promptly just as we sat down to look at the menu. He DEMANDED "guys you need to order now because I have another reservation an hour from now". We had only been sitting there maybe 10 seconds.. Our reservation was at 9pm, we arrived before 9pm. So we ordered a tea and a water to which we audible shrilled (like annoyed we were not drinking). He was demanding we literally order everything that moment.. so we did. Currently, I am in a medical situation where I cannot drink--my husband isn't drinking because I cannot. We ordered the burrata and two pastas. I did not have time to even read the menu. Next he brings our drinks and the burrata came out. He brought the little plates to put our burrata on..as my husband is cutting the burrata the waiter comes up and moves the appetizer plate from under him before he even was able to put the burrata on the plate.(laughable).. Next our pasta was out in 5 seconds. It was actually quite hilarious how rudely we were treated. I don't think we are overly sensitive, maybe he just doesn't like Americans. I have no Idea. We ate our food in like 10 minutes. As we're leaving literally everyone who was there BEFORE we walked in was still sitting in their seats at their tables as we left. No one else seemed to be harassed into ordering, practically have their food thrown at them, and rushed out before the half hour mark!! I definitely think the next group coming in an hour were more important than us enjoying our meal. I feel bad for this person honestly, and we should have just left immediately after the first interaction. I liked their pasta but out of principle I won't be back. Other than that, every other waiter in this town has been lovely. I told my husband maybe he was offended because my husband was wearing a ball cap for dinner? I have no idea! However, go to La Terrazza down the road. They are kind and have excellent food! You will never be...
Read moreWe consider ourselves very fortunate to have been able to secure a table for two at this delightful restaurant in Valencia old town. We turned up without a reservation the evening before the annual half marathon. After a wait of about 15 minutes or so an outside table was found for us.
We had spaghettoni alla parmigiana and pappardelle porcini e salsiccia, and agreed they were two of the tastiest, well-cooked and well-presented dishes we have ever eaten in an Italian restaurant. For dessert we both enjoyed the New York style cheesecake topped with blueberry cream and crunchy amaretti, which was light and not too sweet.
To drink we had a glass of Rioja Ederra and another of Ribera del Duero. Both were delicious but the Ribera was definitely the nicer of the two and well worth the extra few cents! We finished with an excellent cup of coffee, delivered to our table exactly when we asked for it (after our desserts).
The price we paid (€54.90 plus tip) was extremely good value for the quality of the food. Compliments to the kitchen staff.
The ambiance in the restaurant was relaxing and the decor was beautiful, especially the exterior with name of the restaurant in big lights. Our server ASIA was absolutely outstanding at her job, despite being very busy all evening. She is a credit to your charming restaurant. We enjoyed our meal so much we paid a return visit two nights’ later, this time with a table...
Read moreWhat an amazing place. I went for dinner here with a friend and we both loved every part of it. The restaurant design is fresh and funky, but the food is something else. We really went to town with our meal. The Cornetto Di Pollo was a taste sensation and so refreshingly presented and went perfectly with the delicious Verdure Fritte.
We both love antipasto and the Antipasto All’Italiana was amazing. The best quality meat was coupled with vegetables and scamorza cheese that complemented it perfectly. For main course, I can’t recommend anything more highly than the Ravioloni All Bufala and the Pappardelle Mari E Monti. We got one each and ended up sharing because both were sensational. We closed our eyes and felt like we were in an Italian kitchen with Mama cooking! The Ravilioni was homemade and was just so fresh and vibrant. The Pappardelle married the tastes of the sea and the mountains with wild mushrooms, fresh prawns and mantis shrimp. Just wonderful.
Then there were the desserts. These look great and taste even better. We went for lemon meringue pie and carrot cake with vanilla icing. Once again, we just shared and ate some of both. It really is the only way to get around this amazing menu!
I recommend you visit La Pappardella if you are in or near to Valencia. It is the best Italian restaurant in the city and just makes you feel as though you are having the authentic experience. Highly...
