Overpriced and poor service.
Patatas bravas: I appreciate them trying a new take on an old classic, but I did not care for these at all. There was no detectable spice; their sauce tasted purely like mayonnaise. Maybe this is good for tourists who cannot handle even a bit of paprika like in the original sauce, but I found it unpleasant after a few bites.
Valencian tomato with tuna: This was pretty good. But the price was quite high.
Bread: This came with a garlic spread, which made it taste much better. However, the bread seemed to be of the sliced-loaf variety with oats on top - seemed closer to store-bought than of artisanal, which I had expected at these prices.
Paellas had a strict requirement of 2 people minimum. I know this fairly common here, but I'm willing to pay the two-person price for just one! Maybe my rating would be higher if I'd had the chance to be impressed by their rice dishes, but sadly the waitstaff would not budge on this.
Service was slow and impersonal. I had a reservation, but got ignored, and almost run into a few times (this is more the fault of the inside layout) after I tried to enter the restaurant after going unnoticed outside. The waitress was also unwilling to accept third-country proof of vaccination that was not the EU Digital COVID Certificate - which seemed ridiculous to me, seeing as Valencia gets tourists from elsewhere, too. They did allow me to sit at a table outside, but I only saw two of those - I would've been out of luck if they'd be occupied...
Read moreI was really disappointed by my experience here. Having been to the smaller La Lola bar and been really impressed with the quality of the food, the choice of wine and the service I have to say the restaurant does not compare.
Firstly, the staff are incredibly disorganised, we had a table booked at 8pm therefore the restaurant was almost empty. The table was sticky and dirty and my partners glass had lipstick on it. We were asked what we wanted to drink before being given menus to look at. The food was overpriced for the quality and quantity.. we had huevos rotos with probably 10g of jamon in it. I ordered the solomillo de lomo which had not been left to rest therefore combining the bloody meat with the sauce (I have no problem with juicy meat however I expected better) My partner ordered the carrileras which were very small with hardly any puree and also were just* warm.
When we came to ask for the bill we waited 15 mins to be given it, meanwhile during that 15 mins there were around 5-6 members of staff doing nothing except chatting.
Also it’s incredibly loud, between the music and the air con it’s impossible to have a conversation with the person across the table.
It’s a shame because the smaller tapas and wine bar is incredible with some of the best croquetas I’ve ever eaten! The restaurant however is very poor, and very...
Read moreWorst restaurant experience ever! Overpriced paella (16€ PER PERSON) for a small portion with the lowest quality of food I ever had. Me and my friends chose the vegan option and our paella tasted like fish. The have bad hygiene conditions and don’t wash the dishes properly. It’s a typical tourist scam restaurant. None of them even spoke Spanish and they flirt with older women because they wanted to get a higher tip. They gave us the menu way too fast so we can order immediately and don’t decide to leave the place. They gave us way to salty olives so we can get thirsty and order more drinks. The told us that they don’t have a card for drinks so we were not able to see the price. We had the same amount of paella portion for three people like the people next to us and they were two. We payed a higher price for less food. We waited 45 minutes for the paella and the bread came 30 minutes after we ordered it. It usually takes 5 minutes to get bread! We don’t...
