I’ve never had a more appalling dining experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was unwelcoming and downright rude. It was 92 degrees outside, and we were overheated and dehydrated, yet the first thing we were told—rather curtly—was that we couldn’t have our water bottles at the table. Fine, we respectfully complied. But what happened next was completely unacceptable. As we tried to place our order, three of the five of us ordered food, while the other two—who were nauseous from the heat—politely declined to order anything at the moment. Rather than showing understanding or basic human decency, the waiter laughed and became visibly irritated and told us we could only occupy one table if everyone wasn’t ordering. Mind you, the restaurant was nearly empty; there was no crowd waiting to be seated. This was pure pettiness for the sake of being difficult. At that point, it was clear that our business was neither valued nor welcomed, so we decided to leave. Instead of expressing any concern or professionalism, the waiter actually smiled and laughed as we walked out. For reference, this happened on July 4th at 13:30 PM. Our server was a brunette man with a beard. His behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional, leaving us stunned by the complete lack of...
Read moreIt's a pleasant, interesting and quirky coffee shop with a theme that has roots in Art Noveau ? maybe. It's nice.
On going in, we were immediately ushered away from an empty 4 seat table to the only other free 2 seat table, which was right next to the toilet door.
After that it was a long wait time before we could make our order. Another 2 seat table freed up and we moved there.
Shortly after a couple came in and wanted to sit at the 4 seater and were ushered to the unfavourable 2 seater.
Of course that is a matter for the management, but the way it was done and the contrast with the rest of our service or lack of it was marked.
The couple sat at the toilet table were keen to move as well. We left before they moved, so maybe they took over our table.
Well the business may have kept open the possibility of having 3 or 4 customers sit at a table, which didn't happen while we were there (around 30 minutes) but due to it all I won't be going back.
It seems that so many places in Valencia have charming and attentive...
Read moreHaving visited Valencia regularly 2-3 times per year since 2015, I usually feel very welcomed in the city. Unfortunately, I can not say the same for the staff at Trencat. Having met my friends at this cafe, I went in to use the toilet. I was followed by a member of staff who told me the toilet was only for customers. I tried to explain that I had met my friends and we were sitting outside but this did not seem to be enough for this member of staff (short, rather ugly with blond hair). When I returned from the toilet, she followed me until I ordered, saying I must order then and there. she then gave me my coffee in a takeaway cup, assuming I had used the toilet with no intent to buy anything. She is a racist and a bigot, and had obviously assumed because I was not white that I was not a customer there. She then saw me sitting at a table with my friends and offered no apology for her behaviour. Do not visit this establishment. The staff are racist and shame on them for displaying such an attitude in...
