Izaro Taberna — Restaurant in Yaiza

After seeing the google review we decided to try this place. We are very glad we did. When we arrived we were worried because every table had Reserved on it but since this was six o’clock Leo informed us that provided we would finish by eight he could fit us in. I started will a much needed large beer and my wife had beer with a white wine chaser. We shared a fried smoked cheese which was delicious. Then I went on to have a tasty plate of red curry prawns with rice and my wife went for the chicken satay. All the food was nicely presented and perfectly cooked. We also had a small bottle of water and another white wine. The bill was only €69.80 so good value for money. Update 16 months later: went back to Izaro tonight and it was just as brilliant as it was for the below review. Lovely little place with lovely people. Trust me on the croquettes and pig cheeks!

I can see exactly why this place is so highly rated. Small, cosy and friendly restaurant. Staff are warm and welcoming, and the who place is laid back and relaxed. Came for dinner, we had the garlic + cheese bread and ham croquettes which were both excellent, then the confit cod and the pig cheeks + mash which were even more fantastic. The prices were really reasonable and we left feeling like we'd stumbled across a gem.

For me this was the best restaurant in Marina Rubicon. It was my first time staying in this area. The wine is good and so nice that they have Verdejo as well as local wines. The menu is limited however it offers a good choice as the food is fresh. You must try the confited cod with canarian potatoes, mojo and vegetables - just delicious. Nice to see it was busy with Spanish people over their lunch hour. Really friendly and has a lovely view over the marina. A great place for an aperitivo too. The price equalled the value for me.
