Restaurant is situated on the extremel left of the marina adjacent to the very steep stairs.
The restaurant has nice seating inside and out, we chose to sit out with the breeze blowing. Has clean toilet facilities too.
As a party of 3, we ate there on the 1st occasion in mid July 2024. It was lunch time when we went there and the restaurant was all but empty. We ordered 2 mango lassi made which was made from tinned pulp and 1 sour lassi with roasted Jeera. Bearing the heat on mind, the drinks proved most refreshing. The server recommended the Raagda Pattiece. We accompanied that with Paneer Pakora and a plate of vegetable Samosa which had 2 samosas. We shared the food which was served piping hot. The Paneer dish contained 5 pieces, needs to be more generous with the serving. Samosa worked out about 2.50 each, a bit extortionate. The best hot dish was the Raagda pattie served with channa ( white chickpeas).., very tasty indeed. Could have ordered a naan to go with it. The accompanying dips and sauces served in the 2 bowl serving dish helped to enhance the taste.
On our 2nd occasion there, the take way day, I got 2 Raagda pattiece, Racion Paneer and Chapati to take back to our hotel. This was enjoyed by all. It was a nice change from...
Read moreWhile the location and atmosphere were beautiful, the food and service were subpar. The waiters barely understood any English and were rather inattentive and quick with us despite the restaurant being rather empty at the time.
The biggest insult to injury was the food. We ordered vegetarian and lamb samosas as an entree. They mixed up the order and ended up with 3 lamb and only 1 vegetarian samosa, so already the first mistake. The lamb samosa was also horribly dry and rather bland.
The main dishes were the worst though. The chicken korma was NOTHING like I’d ever eaten and I eat Indian food regularly and enjoy it immensely. Way too much coconut, no cashews to taste and otherwise bland. The “medium” spicy dishes were definitely more than medium spicy and the butter chicken and wrongly made where the meat was definitely cooked separately and dry as hell.
The naan was also rather dry and flat, nothing like the fluffy naan I’ve eaten in England and Germany, and they didn’t even have Bathura. Oh yes and the kicker - the portions are tiny, rice isn’t included and it’s OVERPRICED to boot!!
All in all, I cannot FATHOM the positive reviews. Maybe people just don’t have anything to compare. Super...
Read moreThe food was actually pretty good, but you do need to order much spicer than usual. Medium is incredibly mild. Unfortunately the place is let down by the awful service. The waiters were quite rude and laughed at me when I ordered a hot curry. After my balti turned up the waiter asked how was the spice level with a big grin on his face, and tried to take my plate away but the spice level was less than I'd expect from a madras?! Halfway through our meal they chucked our bags and coats onto the floor and said they needed the chair. It is fine to take the chair but please ask first, especially when my bag is new. I didn't appreciate that at all. They took our plates away while we were still eating and brought the bill without us asking. I wanted a dessert but they didn't ask us and told us to leave before we'd finished eating the last mouthful of rice because they needed a table for an elderly couple (there were many tables still available). I found this to be incredibly strange service and I'm not...
