Oh my days where do I begin? We were recommended this place from the lovely lady at our hotel. We then proceeded to check out the reviews online and then decided to book a table. We called ahead to notify them that we were a party of 20 people We we’re then instructed that in order to book a table we needed to come down to the restaurant (which was 45 mins away) and make a credit card deposit. We assumed that because of the strong recommendation from our hotel receptionist coupled with the Google reviews we settled on booking and the decision was made. The excitement began to build and my mouth started watering thinking of the sumptuous seafood I was planning on feasting on. Now as I mentioned before the restaurant was a long 45 minute walk away from our hotel so by the time we got there we were famished. Ok so now onto the restaurant.review. The service was poor at best. The waiter took our order and the food took ages to arrive. Eventually one side of our long table received their food whilst the other has to wait for ages. After chasing and chasing the food as well as the drinks our food finally arrived. Now when I say that I was bitterly disappointed that is an understatement. Let’s start off with the Calamari, I can honestly say that I have tasted better frozen calamari in the UK. Moving onto the soup it was so bland and tasteless it was unbelievable we had to pour. half a bottle of Tabasco and loads of salt and pepper. Moving onto the seafood paella and the lobster risotto the paella wasn’t even yellow it was “brown” and it was horrible.it consisted of three prawns and two mussels and it’s was 16! euros per person (a total joke). The lobster risotto was just a bowl of swimming rice that was also tasteless and bland. I would honestly recommended anyone to swerve this place like the league as the service and food are bitterly disappointing. Apogees Casa Roja but that’s the truth you seriously need to up your game. You she have the advantage of having a 5* location but your food and service is lacking big time.

We were greeted at the door of this incredibly busy restaurant by Rafael, the manager. We were slightly late but he was super friendly and pleasant and escorted us to a gorgeous table with a lovely sea view. Our main waiter for the evening was Alberto who was excellent, very attentive with his service and he had a great sense of humour. We had all seafood, scallops and octopus to start. Well the octopus was just out of this world delicious! We then had a black rice paella to share for our main course which was also absolutely delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we thought Rafael, Alberto and all of the waiting staff were excellent. We witnessed Rafael dealing with a very aggressive British customer. The man seemed to have been waiting for a while (as many people had to secure a table at this busy, popular restaurant) but was clearly venting his aggression poking and pointing in Rafael"s face. Rafael dealt with this very rude man patiently and extremely professionally. We felt he managed the situation calmly and smoothly. He is excellent at his job. We sincerely hope that this rude man's actions do not reflect on the rest of us who are here to enjoy a lovely meal at a gorgeous restaurant and to integrate with the local culture and language. Casa Roja was an amazing dining experience for us and we are great seafood lovers! Rafael, Alberto and the rest of the team made the whole experience particularly enjoyable. We highly recommend a visit!

We decided to go here after being advised by a expat. Staff are nice and helpful. There is big menu and it's a grill so partner had the Tuna Tartar. Which was lovely and fresh. I had the Beach fry, with calamari, mussels, baby squid all nicely deep fried. Bottle of Lazarote white wine very nice. Mains I had the Pork spare ribs coated in BBQ sauce (brushed rather than coated)but it melted of the bone. My partner ordered filet steak with a pepper sauce the steak Blue, asked the waiter to serve it on a cold plate. The plate with veg was piping hot and the steak came out on sizzling hot plate, having the waitress to take the steak off the hot plate asap and put it onto her side plate, the steak itself was still blue and delicious, however they forgot the pepper sauce, asked the head waiter, apologised and would be a few moments, true to his word it was, double cream with no pepper taste. Spoke to the head waiter again took the sauce away brought it back a few moments later packed with way to much pepper. By this time I had almost finished my meal. The Headwaiter came back apologised once again and offered us some Brandy to make up, which was very nice of him. The food was very good but.....while we were sitting looking at the menu a couple of oldish ladies complained about there vegetables being over cooked, not sure as could not see there plates but they got brandy and Honey Rum.....

I’ve never posted here negatively before about anywhere, ever, but I’m afraid tonight I am absolutely disgusted at how we were treated in La Casa Roja in Marina Rubicon.

What started as a lovely evening, fabulous food, in a place we’ve been many times down through the years suddenly and unexpectedly turned very sour.

We realised on our bill that we’d been charged for extra bread, coffee and dessert. When we pointed this out the manageress was not at all happy. She made a massive scene, accused my wife of shouting at her, I can assure you she didn’t, and said she was calling the police……

She declared “I’m the second manager here for the last twelve years,” so she worked there for years and we were wrong…….. as they had made a mistake with the order and the bill…..

We would be fired immediately if we spoke to anyone in our professions the way she did. Our three children were crying leaving the restaurant as she said she was calling the police…..

Because we pointed out a mistake in our bill….

I am upset and hurt at the treatment we received this evening. I’ve never experienced anything like it before ever anywhere!!

NORMALLY, the establishment will apologise and realise there was a mistake but unfortunately that wasn’t our experience.. they didn’t even bring an extra dessert, so it’s not like they even prepared it…..

I am truly shocked at the reaction to being told that there was problem with the bill…

We paid for the food that we received and also tipped the waiter that had been looking after us, as we always do.

The other customers were looking at us and had mouths open as to what was going on… the waiter shrugged his shoulder to say “I don’t know what the problem is” and then after leaving we walked towards the ice cream parlour and when we turned around a police car pulled up and two policemen walked to the door of the restaurant and turned and walked back to their car,

So the manageress of twelve years called the police because she couldn’t realise her mistake.

The unprofessionalism is appalling and has caused huge upset to myself, my wife and our three children who all left the premises crying.

An absolutely shocking experience and I would hate for anyone else to have to go through such an ordeal at the hands of such an...

Me and my family ate here last night and I think we all agreed it was the worst dining experience we’ve ever had.

The food was of an extremely poor standard. Whatever you do, do not get the seafood paella, it tasted like pure sea water, was completely over cooked and looked like something someone had thrown up. There was no seasoning, just a plate of brown rice and a few overcooked prawns and mussels. If you’re looking for a vibrant flavoursome Mediterranean paella then you’ll be highly disappointed if you get it here!

The Bao buns for my husbands starter were more like overcooked pitta bread, he couldn’t eat them they were so hard. Another fish main we got that was set to come out with potato gratin came out just as plate of fish on its own. Nobody even asked us how our meals were dispute seeing the plates left barely untouched.

On top of the terrible food, the service was something I could only describe as strange and bizarre. We were given about 5 different waiter staff so nobody knew what was going on, nobody could speak English so it meant they couldn’t take our orders properly or communicate with us about anything.

They didn’t seem to care about providing customer service at all. When I complained about my paella they just said ok and took it away. No asking if they could get me something else etc. this was probably all due to the la gauge barrier. I understand we are not in the UK but being a tourist attraction of many brits they should know enough English to be able to offer a basic waiting service.

I also nearly knocked myself out in the ladies toilets as the cubicles are tiny and have no lights, so when you close the door it’s pitch black. They also don’t lock. Very bizarre!!

Please save your money. We were incredibly disappointed and all left hungrier than we came. If I could leave 0...
