The restaurant is owned and administered by the charming owner and his girlfriend. The food is from the sublime to the ordinary - which by Playa Blanca standards means it is extraordinary. Great Beer menu, decent wine menu. The risotto was genuinely excellent and the best we have enjoyed outside of France. The good avocado cream cheese starter could have benefited from additional Serrano Ham to balance the sweet to salty. The mains had an unfortunately split Bearnaise sauce served alongside a perfectly cooked rare steak. The lamb was disappointingly heavy and uninspiring. The tuna was the standout main - the accompaniments.all around were a pitiful afterthought. The cheesecake dessert should be on everyone's horizon - it was excellent. The fondant was vaguely overcooked but nothing special nor upsetting. The tropical mousse was the worst of the pack, bland and lacking in flavour and should be removed from the menu. All in all a very good meal by PB standard. By other standards - bang average The hospitality and importance placed on the food by the owners was second to none. Absolutely where you want to give...
Read moreEasily the best place that we ate in Playa Blanca. Ben and his partner run this lovely restaurant with their chef William and what a great job they do. It's easy to miss the unassuming entrance to this small and intimate place. It's just around the corner from Mango! It is small, with about 20 covers. Ben is Belgian and has an amazing selection of Belgian beers, some of which are 10.25% proof! The wine list is excellent and pricing is very sensible. The food, which is all freshly prepared is amazing. I'd call it modern Mediterranean with Asian influences but in reality it's more interesting than that. Everything we ate was fantastic. We enjoyed it so much on our first visit we immediately booked it for the last night of our holiday. If anything, it was gene better second time around. If you enjoy good food, this is the place to go. But do book, because it's small and in demand (and quite rightly so) We would definitely go back. Ben and the team deserve all the...
Read moreMy husband and I visited from an other resort on the island and stumbled across this amazing restaurant by chance. When we sat down we were asked if we wanted drinks or food as the tables for drinks only is frontmost. We were presented with the menu and also the 3 course €19 option, which we decided on immediately. We had the best fish soup ever served with croutons, bread and squid ink alioli. We both chose the fish in a caper and lemon butter served with potatoes and a selection of vegetables from the owners garden. Sadly we were both too full for the chocolate cake but left enjoying the flavours of our meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, polite, welcoming and passionate about their restaurant and food. If we were ever back on the island we would not hesitate to revisit Restaurante...
