We went to Shibumi Sushi Lab in Marina Rubicon in Playa Blanca for the first time in April, 2024. The restaurant is decorated magnificently and has a lovely atmosphere. We only booked late so we sat at the stools in front of the sushi bar. It was so interesting to watch the fresh preparation of the dishes. The couple preparing the food were so friendly and were a great help in explaining the menu and guiding us with our choices. We also had a wonderful waitress who was very attentive. Over the evening we ordered a large selection of dishes (8 plus) which were delicious and presented beautifully. The wine list was very extensive and we enjoyed a lovely bottle of white wine. The dessert were amazing. I have had sushi many times in many countries and my only criticism of Shibumi is that the quantity of fish in each serving needs to be increased. Also the Wagyu was way too small for the price paid. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and we had a lovely night out with lovely food and wine. I have attached...

We absolutely loved it! We called in without reservation in the first few days and were greeted by an amazing manager who gave us several options of where to sit, we chose at the bar, we had only 30 Mins to spare and so ordered one drink and one small plate each. Both great. We loved the decor, the vibe, the details such as the menus are just so different, we felt like we wee in Madrid not playa Blanca
I don’t eat fish or sea food and I had plenty of options
The person who left a bad review on day 1 - shame on you! It is obvious the owners have invested a lot and are very passionate, of course it’s not going to be perfect when they just opened but the things you said aren’t even helpful, not to the owner or the public reading the reviews!
Ps I have a peanut allergy and felt very reassured and...

My main issue, was the price of dishes and portion sizes. For example, the Bao buns are €21 for two, very small and not the most flavoursome. We have had better while on holiday at €8.50 for two. The Sushi, was nice, but again not enough for the price paid. We left feeling still slightly hungry and looking for somewhere to ‘top us up’.
Drinks reasonable and a full range to suit every budget.
Would I go again, probably not. Really needs to review it’s pricing structure or portion sizing, to get repeat business and not receive future reviews, with...
