The entire night was guided by Vimukthi who gave us the most efficient and unobtrusive service that I've ever experienced in Sri Lanka to date. The wine, drinks and kids orders were taken and delivered swiftly. We had a fantastic Whiskey Sour cocktail that was served to all the adults complete with a frozen decanter, ice spheres and tableside pouring. Wow! We ordered several mains along with small starters to be served as appetisers to have with our drinks followed by the mains. Breads and dip were amazing, steaks were perfectly done, ribs falling off the bones and everything was so beautifully presented. Side dishes were huge and tasty and pre-dessert friandises were a nice touch. During the whole night, water and drinks were topped off with us barely noticing anyone coming in or going out of the private room without a single hiccup or delay. I have always maintained that in Colombo you have two choices for dining out, especially for special occasions : pay a little less and have a mediocre experience or pay a little extra and get your money's worth with an experience and food that is not soon forgotten. Read moreI frequented the bar with my partner on Saturday evening after coming from London. The service was laughably abysmal and so so unprofessional. The bar was not busy and there were plenty of staff. I’ll start from the beginning we sat down and after 10 minutes when no one had brought a menu I went up to the bar to ask for one I was given one and I asked if I could have a second one. The bartender just pointed at the menus and said they’re over there. We again waited another 15 minutes with no one coming to take our order. Inexplicably a waiter came towards us and thought it was more important to rearrange an empty table almost directly in front of us without making any eye contact. We eventually got his attention and the cocktails were brought out. The cocktails were good. The worst moment was after we were halfway through the cocktails another server came and said “can I get you the bill?” We said no because we hadn’t finished the first one, and we were going to get more drinks. He then proceeded to roll his eyes and go back to the bar. I’m not sure what planet the staff are on but you are representing a luxury brand and your service was worse than a chain of Burger King.
