I bookmarked this place way before my trip to SL and was lucky enough to be able to squeeze some time to visit Caroma. The specialty coffee scene here in Cmb is I feel just starting to ~bloom~ and it brought me great joy to see that the owner is really dedicated to his craft and doing his best to serve good coffee. While we couldn’t chat extensively, I was happy to see a fellow coffee fanatic in a place so far away from home. It’s a tough business and I hope Caroma will flourish. Who knows next time when I’m back Caroma will have had their own roastery! If you’re reading this, put up on a tipping jar on the counter so we could all support you!

Excellent Americano and Expresso. Americano have a nice boquet and not have a bittet taste like in Malaysia. Enjoyed the Brownie and Coconut cake. Host very gracious and informative on how to brew an excelent cup of coffee. As every one knows, good coffee runs through my veins. This was excellent. Great setting at the Floating Market in beautiful Colombo. Try the coffee when you visit here, tell him the white man from Kuching recommended his shop.

I was jumping to catch a train to get to the airport and needed a quick cup of coffee so I stopped at this place and the service just was so Neat !! Really peaceful shop on the floating market ( psst they have their own seating space) . This Dude Menaka served me and made sure I felt comfortable before I could start my run again , a huge shoutout to him . If you're ever at Colombo visit this place.

I can’t understand why this place has such good reviews. My americano was burnt and tasted like cheap instant coffee. The prices are very high for Sri Lanka (600 for an americano!), especially considering the coffee wasn’t great. There is no indoor seating and the seating next to the water isn’t very comfortable. Also no toilet nearby. At least they take credit card

"I had a wonderful experience at this shop. The latte I had was absolutely amazing—rich and flavorful. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, with soothing music perfect for readers and thinkers. A special mention to the kind little woman who provided excellent customer care—she made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place!"

After two weeks in Sri Lanka this was by far the best coffee we found. On top of that, the location is perfect for relaxing or waiting for a train (on the lakeside with a floating platform, a short walk from Colombo Fort), the price is fair, and the service is impeccable. Highly recommended
