ColomBar — Restaurant in Colombo

We visited Colombar on Tuesday reached at 11:30pm there was hardly anyone, understandably bcos it was a weekday. Band was playing some local songs. Was at the bar and wanted to order some drinks. My friends asked the barman what kinda whiskey and vodka they had available. This Over confident Bar man who thought he knew it all started mentioning all high end brands like Glen 12 years Chivas 12 and so on…. And I ordered a Virgin passion fruits Mojito And I got the post judgmental look from this kid who must have just started working there. Customer service was really bad. All the other staff had nothing to say just watching this guys make fun of a customer just because she is not drinking 🤷🏽‍♀️. A five star hotel never expected this kinda service. Also he was the only one not wearing a mask. Not sure where the Manager or supervisor were And the Mojito 🤮 come on! You could definitely do better. He told mint leaves was unavailable I was alright with it. When I got the drink it was full of Cordial. If he just told me we don’t have fresh passion I would have never ordered. It maybe 15min for the bar to close but you don’t make a drink just for the sake of making it. Also we had to repeat our order 3 times because he was too busy doing nothing. Great Vibes and Live Entertainment at Colombar – Cinnamon Lakeside

Colombar, located at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel in Colombo, is a fantastic spot if you’re looking to unwind with good music, delicious food, and great company. Cinnamon has always been one of my favorite places and my go-to spot, but yesterday’s incident was absolutely devastating. I was extremely disappointed by the way the Manager( SUSANTHA ) treated us.

At the Colombar, we paid for 3 tickets at the entrance (it was a ladies’ night free day). These tickets were purchased at different times as each person arrived. However, when it came time to settle the bill, we realized that only 2 tickets had been redeemed, and 1 was missing. It became clear that we had not been given the ticket at the entrance.

When we raised this issue at the counter, the staff offered no support whatsoever. Instead, the manager, Susantha, approached us and spoke in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner. Honestly, it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a manager at a 5-star hotel.

This was never about the 4,000 LKR—it was about proper customer service and respect. I even requested to check the CCTV footage, but he flatly refused. It left me questioning how a reputed brand like Cinnamon can have managers who treat customers in such a disrespectful way.

Highly disappointed.
