KFC - Kotahena — Restaurant in Colombo

We went to KFC kotahena on 12/09/2025 to get the bucket promotion. The place was super crowded and only one cashier was there who was extremely cranky and rude maybe because he was the only cashier. I waited in the line for almost five minutes and then the person Infront of me asked if I ordered I said not yet and he moved and told me to go to the cashier because everyone in front of me has already ordered the food and waiting to collect it. So I excused myself and went to the cashier. He saw but he didn't care to ask if I want to order, he went into the kitchen. I waited few minutes and there was a girl standing so I called her and said I need to order, she ignored me and went inside. And then the other guy came and asked did you order. I said not yet because no one was there how am I supporting to order and then he didn't even bothered he asked me for the order and I said I want order the promotion. While taking the order also his voice and the way he looked at me was super rude so I was also not smiling or anything I kept my face straight (almost like we were both in a staring competition) and the i waited for 50mins. After 50 minutes I went to the counter and asked if it's ready. The girl who ignored me earlier was there. She took the bill and gave me the food. We came home and started eating and it was shit.. the chicken was over cooked no flavour at all. We spent 5000/- and more than one hour of our time for this food which doesn't even taste good. KFC kotahena should improve there customer services and food because if this goes this way that's gonna be a problem for them because people are going to stop visiting this place. Disappointed with My Experience – KFC Kotahena

I usually enjoy KFC, but my recent experience at the Kotahena branch was really disappointing. I ordered the Rs. 2,990 offer (which included dry burgers, 1L Pepsi, and 6 chicken wings), added 2 extra chicken pieces for Rs. 1,400, and got a large fries as well.

Honestly, the food was not worth the money. The burgers were completely dry, the chicken didn't taste fresh, and the fries were cold and soggy. I was expecting a decent meal, but it felt like everything was just thrown together without care.

Since it was a takeaway, I didn’t have the chance to go back and complain, and returning the food isn’t always easy — especially when you’ve already spent on travel. Not everyone has the time or means to go back just to fix a bad order.

It’s really upsetting when you spend that much and don’t get what you paid for. I hope this branch takes customer feedback seriously and works on improving the food quality...

I have been here a few times and the service at this particular outlet has always been very questionable. As my latest encounter, I had placed an online order and went to pick it up after 20 mins, only to realize that it's only then that the staff at the outlet were getting their hands on my order. If it were a busy part of the day, I'd have at least been negligent about it, but it was at 3:30 PM on a Public Holiday and there was just a couple of people dining in the entire restaurant. They had Pepsi PET bottles clearly visible to all customers in a showcase refrigerator right behind the cashier, and I was denied a bottle of Pepsi saying that it's strictly for deliveries and not for TakeAway!
