KFC - Majestic City — Restaurant in Colombo

Absolutely horrible! It’s been a while since me and my family have gone to kfc and we went on the 24th of May and my expectations were the complete opposite of what I had experienced. First of all, the atmosphere was disgusting, the hygiene there was awful and a small local hotel would look so much better, I was in deep shock and couldn’t recognise it that I had to look at the sign twice to make sure I was in the right place. There was no ac and it was very hot, it was raining outside or else I would’ve taken take away and gotten out as fast as possible. Second thing, the food. After we made the order they told us to wait 10-15mins along with everyone else but made us wait for almost an hour, I expected at least some nice food. I ordered a large French fries, a 4pc chicken bucket and some rice. Rice was somewhat alright but I was shocked to see the quantity of the French fries. You’d expect to find it big enough to fill you up for dinner but this was smaller than the small fry. The worst above all is the chicken bucket, it looked as if it had been fried with cornflakes and it wasn’t even properly crunchy. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at the KFC Bambalapitiya restaurant on August 4, 2023 at around 10.00-11.00 PM.

When we placed our dine-in order, the cashier did not give us a bill or charge us at that time. We initially did not think much of this, as he told the kitchen to prepare our order. However, we soon realized why he did this.

Despite promising that our food would be ready in 10-15 minutes, it took them at least 45 minutes to prepare our order. The restaurant was not crowded at the time, so we were surprised at the long wait.

As we were waiting for our food, we were sweating profusely. We asked a staff member to increase the air conditioning, but he said that it was broken.

After we had our meals, we went to wash our hands, but the soap dispenser was broken as well.

We are very disappointed with the service we received at this KFC restaurant. We understand that mistakes happen, but we believe that the wait time for our food was unacceptable. Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs! This KFC has gone drastically downhill. The food quality is absolutely appalling. Ordering two pieces of chicken now gets you a tiny wing and a drumstick – highway robbery! It's simply not worth the money. To add insult to injury, the chicken bones were black, indicating serious quality issues. This is NOT the KFC quality I've come to expect. If they can't maintain standards, they shouldn't be operating. They should be banned in Sri Lanka, just like McDonald's, if they can't get their act together. The manager was completely unhelpful, hiding behind some supposed "policy" when we complained. It felt like they were just reading a script and had no power to actually resolve the issue. Even the burger was wrapped carelessly, a further sign of the lack of attention to detail. And don't even get me started on the spicy chicken biriyani.
