I recently had the pleasure of dining at Khayaban, located in the food studio of One Galle Face Mall. Let me start by saying that I am not a seasoned food reviewer, but my experience at this restaurant was so delightful that I couldn't resist sharing my thoughts. Khayaban offers a true taste of authentic Pakistani cuisine, and I have been fortunate enough to visit this place three times now.
During my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in two exquisite dishes: the Murgh Karahi chicken and the Chicken Makhni Handi. Let me start by describing the Murgh Karahi chicken—a succulent roasted chicken immersed in a flavorsome tomato-based curry infused with a rich blend of aromatic spices. As for the Chicken Makhni Handi, it was equally delightful—a delightful combination of tender chicken pieces cooked in a luscious tomato sauce, expertly spiced to perfection. The chicken was tender, boneless, and perfectly complemented by the tangy yogurt marinade. The use of authentic spices was evident, and the overall taste was simply brilliant. The aroma wafting from the plates was equally tantalizing.
What impressed me even more was the generous portion size. For a single person, the serving was more than enough to satisfy my appetite. The chefs at Khayaban definitely know how to make their customers feel well-fed and content.
I am eager to explore more of the menu at Khayaban as I continue to fall in love with this place. Trust me when I say that the food here is simply outstanding. If you're a fan of authentic Pakistani cuisine, I highly recommend giving Khayaban a try. I'm certain you won't be...
Read moreUnfortunately, I must express my disappointment with the quality and taste of the food provided, as it did not meet the expectations set by previous Iftars in our organization.
The rice dish, which was containing chicken, had very little chicken and mostly consisted of thin, thread-like pieces. The overall taste was heavily dominated by garlic( in khanji), and there was a noticeable lack of meat in the dish. Additionally, the gravy had an unusually sweet flavor, likely due to an excess of soy sauce, which did not suit the dish at all.
While some of the other items were somewhat acceptable, they still did not meet the quality standards one would expect for an Iftar meal. The mandarins, for instance, were not as sweet as expected, and the lassi seemed watered down, lacking the rich taste typically associated with it.
Overall, the meal did not provide the experience we were hoping for, and I believe there is room for significant improvement in the quality and flavor of the food. It would be great if more attention could be given to the balance of flavors and the quality of ingredients in future arrangements.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that with some adjustments, future meals can better reflect the quality we have...

I enjoyed the Tikka Pulao at the Food Studio outlet. The chicken was delicious and well cooked. However, the portion size felt small for the price.
The service was fast, but initially, they only provided a fork and spoon, which isn't ideal for eating fried chicken. I had to request a knife, something they should consider including with the dish from the start. These are minor details, but they contribute to the overall dining experience.
The Food Studio wasn't crowded during my visit, though it can get busy during lunch hours.
While the food is tasty, considering other options available in OGF, I'm not sure it offers the best value (Food studio in...
