Marine Grill — Restaurant in Colombo

I had the worst experience at this restaurant. The customer service was absolutely terrible. From the moment we sat down, the staff was practically shoving us to order, claiming the kitchen was about to close. The waiter came to our table twice, acting like we were wasting his precious time, which was beyond annoying. He kept checking his watch like we were the ones holding him up, and they even started turning off the lights around us. Seriously? Talk about unprofessional!

When we finally tried to order, we were going through the menu item by item, but the waiter was rushing us like he had somewhere better to be. At one point, before we even had a chance to ask for juice, he thought that was the end of the menu and went to move on. They completely messed up one of our orders because they were too busy trying to get us out of there. We felt so uncomfortable that we didn’t even eat most of the food we ordered; we just took it home. If they wanted to close early, they should've just put up a closed sign instead of seating us. As paying customers, we deserve respect, not to be treated like an inconvenience. I've been to a ton of restaurants, and none of them have rushed us like this just because they wanted to go home early. It’s ridiculous! This whole experience was a joke, and I hope they figure out how to treat customers better...

I had a horrible experience at Marine Grill, and I felt compelled to share my frustration. We entered the restaurant at 10 pm, and while we were greeted warmly, that’s where the positive experience ended. From the moment we got the menu, the staff was in a rush to take our order, coming over twice within a few minutes despite us clearly still deciding. When we asked for more time to look over the menu, the waiter kept looking at his watch and at us, making us feel extremely uncomfortable. His body language and tone made it clear he thought we were taking too long.

To make matters worse, they missed one of our orders because they were rushing, but we decided not to make a fuss. However, as we were eating, they started turning off the lights at the nearby tables and cleaning up as if they were in a hurry to leave. The staff was running around, constantly looking at their watches, making the whole situation feel tense and awkward. We were so uncomfortable that we couldn’t finish our meal and ended up packing everything to leave.

Honestly, if they were closing soon, they should have informed us when we first arrived. Their behavior was completely unprofessional and ruined our appetite. It was one of the worst dining experiences...

One of the best place to have a great varieties of Starters Burgers & Submarines in Marine drive Wellawatte It’s located near Wellawatte railway station. I used to try their burger varieties. The buns they used for burgers are really fresh and well toasted and the chicken also really fresh and tasty. They use in-house sauce varieties to tastes their burgers 🍔. One of the best burgers in srilanka. I love their ghost burger and Big Chicken N Burger. Ghost burger is a spicy burger it’s tastes different and a new experience for us. If I get burgers for my dinner I used to get another portion of starters or add ons in other restaurants because it’s not enough for me. But here it’s difficult to eat a portion of burger. Very large parking facility available here. Large seating area and outdoor seating also available. Very calm and clean place. Staffs are friendly and provide good service. They also have the South Indian menu. I already tasted their nasigeorang portion is good and tasty. Must visit place in Wellawatte. Highly recommended for families and large group of people.
