From the moment I stepped into Thai Cuisine Boulevard in Colombo, Sri Lanka, I knew I had made the right decision. It was the very first restaurant I tried after arriving in the country, and it absolutely set the tone for an amazing culinary journey. If you're visiting Colombo and looking for authentic Thai food made with love and attention to detail, this place is a gem you shouldn't miss.
To begin with, the flavors in every single dish were just phenomenal. Each bite tasted fresh, balanced, and true to traditional Thai cuisine. From the creamy Tom Kha soup to the perfectly stir-fried Pad Thai, the food was simply outstanding. The spice level was perfectly managed — bold and flavorful without overwhelming the dish, exactly how Thai food should be. I’ve been to quite a few Thai restaurants back home, but this one genuinely surpassed many of my favorites. You could taste the freshness in the herbs and ingredients — lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime — everything felt vibrant and intentional.
What really stood out, apart from the food, was the service. Our server, Vijitha, was truly a highlight of the evening. He was not only warm and welcoming, but also extremely professional and knowledgeable about the menu. He guided us through the dishes with care, explaining ingredients, spice levels, and portion sizes. His recommendations were spot on — especially the mango sticky rice, which was the perfect ending to a rich and flavorful meal. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely enjoys helping guests feel comfortable and informed, and Vijitha really went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience.
We arrived right at opening time, so the restaurant was calm and peaceful, which gave us time to really enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. The setting was simple yet stylish, with thoughtful decor and a clean, fresh feel. Everything — from the tables to the bathrooms — was spotless, which I always appreciate when dining out. The ambiance had a relaxed elegance, with soft music playing in the background and subtle lighting that made the space feel cozy and inviting.
What I also loved was the way the staff treated us from start to finish — always attentive, smiling, and willing to check in without being intrusive. You could feel the warmth not only in the food but in the entire experience. It was clear that the staff took pride in what they do, and that added so much value to our visit.
Overall, Thai Cuisine Boulevard was more than just a meal — it was a beautiful, memorable experience. I left with a full heart and a very happy stomach. Whether you're craving comforting Thai classics or want to try something new, I highly recommend adding this spot to your list. It's a place where food, service, and atmosphere come together in the best possible way. I’m already looking forward to coming back before I...
Read moreMy family and I visited the restaurant today for dinner. It was a really disappointing experience. There were many faults related to the dishes and the drinks we ordered.
Starting with the drinks, we ordered a round of beer which came in glass bottles and glasses. There was an nsect in the glass and the beer was already poured into the glass. When I requested the staff to change the glass, the waiter emptied the glass of beer which was not drunk and the bought back an empty glass. The waiter did not refill the glass, he left it on the table and did not apologize. We had to refill the glass with the bottle that we had ordered before.
The other mistake which was unbearable was finding egg shells in the chicken pad thai noodles. When the mistake was pointed out to one of the supervisors, he did not apologise neither did he clear the plate and take it away. He was extremely rude and made us feel very uncomfortable. He impolitely offered us another serving for takeaway and acted as if the cooking staff did not make any mistakes. That attitude and irresponsible behaviour made us leave the restaurant immediately.
I hope the staff takes extra caution in preparing the dishes and I hope the staff is more trained when it comes to customer service and respect...
Read moreI've always loved Thai Boulevard, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. During our visit, I ordered the prawn toast, unaware that it contained sea bass – a severe allergen for me. This critical information was not mentioned on the menu, and staff failed to inform us. After just one bite, I experienced an allergic reaction. The staff's response was shockingly inadequate. They confirmed the presence of sea bass with little concern. The assistant manager was dismissive, and the manager even implied it was our fault, demonstrating a pathetic lack of understanding regarding allergies. He mentioned that people are only allegic to either Prawns or peanuts, which was shocking to us. They had no allergy medication available, and my friends had to rush to a pharmacy while staff showed no empathy. To add to the issues, our choo chee prawn dish was undercooked and had to be returned. We received no apology and were even charged for all the dishes. This stressful experience and the staff's ignorance and lack of care regarding my allergic reaction was unacceptable. The food quality has also declined drastically. I will not...
