Went there in the night and the ambience was pretty good. Has both indoor and outdoor seating
The Garlic bread and the Thai Chicken Wrap were to the point especially the garlic bread. Easily one of the best in town.
Prawn Masala Cheese kotthu wasn’t that great but had good amount of prawn in it.
Out of the Juices the non-alcoholic beer with strawberry mojito is something you should choose to avoid!
Overall it was a good experience

The Barnesbury at Barnes Place
Location : In Barnes place passing Tea Avenue towards Kynsey Road. Parking available and free parking along Barnes Place.
Ambience : Spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating for plenty.
Rustic Furniture, decor and lighting brings out the feel of a Barn. They have more than a couple of places for a good instagram moment and will not disappoint the selfie lovers.
Service : Welcoming and courteous staff. The food was served without much delay.
Food : Ordered a Chicken Enchilada and a portion of Panko Chicken (this actually has a looooong name) as mains, and one Mango, Lime & Pineapple Margarita and a Lime & Mint Margarita for drinks.
The Enchilada is chicken wrapped in a tortilla with onions and corn and served with thick layer of cheese on top.
Panko Chicken is huge pieces of crumbled fried chicken breasts served with french fries and salad.
Note - Both the Enchilada and Panko Chicken can serve two people on their own. We couldn’t finish them both. Don’t be like us, DON’T WASTE FOOD!
The margaritas were well presented in salt rimmed Margarita glasses and both of them were quite good. Nothing ‘wow’ about them, but tasted what it should taste like.
VFM : There was nothing much to complain about the experience. Infact the food portions are very generously sized.
Only downside was the price, where service charge and the tax alone, comes upto 25%!

Read moreInitially when we walked in, we weren't sure if they were open or not as there was some construction taking place. However, we were greeted by friendly staff, who wanted to ensure we were seated in a comfortable area without being disturbed by traffic. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating and we preferred to be seated inside as it had a chance of rain.
The drinks and the starters came out within an acceptable amount of time. And they were well presented. The mains followed soon after. The Pesto Shrimp wasn't served with the pine nuts which was a disappointment and it also lacked pesto flavors. We informed the staff and they took the feedback in a welcoming manner without any excuses. The portions were filling and once again the dishes were garnished beautifully.
The highlight of the experience was the fabulous staff here. Christopher and Dominique were amazing.
The restrooms need to be maintained better. Unfortunately, the condition/appearance of the restaurant didn't reflect the same in the restrooms. I did hear they are doing some renovations so hopefully they will get that aspect of the restaurant sorted out.
As many places in Sri Lanka are affected by the importation restrictions due to the economic situation, they didn't have all the items in the menu. Due to this their dessert section had very little variety as well. Hence we didn't try out any of the items from the dessert section.
Cozy place for a good meal, with friendly staff and a...

I've been thinking for a few days how do I go about this review. I'll have to keep this short, even tho there is so much to say I think I could write a dissertation on how some restaurants in Colombo only exist to rob you from your money.
I have no idea what the big deal is about this place. I was thoroughly disappointed with the food and the restaurant lacked any type of atmosphere (altho, I will give benefit of the doubt this was new years weekend).
We spent a total of 10,000rs for side of fries, two small soft drinks and two mains. Daylight robbery when you compare to other restaurants and the quality of food served here.
The Hawaiian Caesar Salad was almost like an inside joke that we both weren't in on. It was Just pineapple, huge chunks of pineapple, with mayonnaise slathered all over it and what I can only describe as a slither of chicken all on a bed of lettuce. Uninspiring to say the least, but I'm being too kind saying that.
Chicken shawarma was just, again, the teeniest tiniest bit of chicken cut up and shoved into huge pittas, filled to the brim with lettuce. It was a lettuce pitta. That's all.
Decor is too much, tried too hard and is not well maintained. Dead fly's and a ton of fly wings covered our chair. The outside seating had very, very used cushions. Very grimy.
I don't understand why we were charged for this. Completely...
