Went there in the night and the ambience was pretty good. Has both indoor and outdoor seating The Garlic bread and the Thai Chicken Wrap were to the point especially the garlic bread. Easily one of the best in town. Prawn Masala Cheese kotthu wasn’t that great but had good amount of prawn in it. Out of the Juices the non-alcoholic beer with strawberry mojito is something you should choose to avoid! Overall it was a good experience —————————————————— The Barnesbury at Barnes Place Location : In Barnes place passing Tea Avenue towards Kynsey Road. Parking available and free parking along Barnes Place. Ambience : Spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating for plenty. Rustic Furniture, decor and lighting brings out the feel of a Barn. They have more than a couple of places for a good instagram moment and will not disappoint the selfie lovers. Service : Welcoming and courteous staff. The food was served without much delay. Food : Ordered a Chicken Enchilada and a portion of Panko Chicken (this actually has a looooong name) as mains, and one Mango, Lime & Pineapple Margarita and a Lime & Mint Margarita for drinks. The Enchilada is chicken wrapped in a tortilla with onions and corn and served with thick layer of cheese on top. Panko Chicken is huge pieces of crumbled fried chicken breasts served with french fries and salad. Note - Both the Enchilada and Panko Chicken can serve two people on their own. We couldn’t finish them both. Don’t be like us, DON’T WASTE FOOD! The margaritas were well presented in salt rimmed Margarita glasses and both of them were quite good. Nothing ‘wow’ about them, but tasted what it should taste like. VFM : There was nothing much to complain about the experience. Infact the food portions are very generously sized. Only downside was the price, where service charge and the tax alone, comes upto 25%! Kota rating - 4’ 4” (Out of 5 Feet) Follow - @kota_joduwa on instagram

Well they have a nice indoor atmosphere and it's great for even a casual date. Very calm and peaceful also so that's definitely a plus point. Food - We had Potato Wedges and Fish n Chips and both plates tasted good and the portion sizes for reasonable.b Drinks - We had an Avocado juice and a Kiwi Juice and both of them tasted fresh as well. Total cost was approximately just below 3500 and you'd be looking at a cost of 4,500 for 2 people which is on the expensive side if you ask me but given the quality of service, atmosphere and food, this is acceptable and can recommend this place. Note - If you ask for hot water, they'll bring the hot water along with an expensive water bottle so make sure you ask them not to open it unless you wanna pay for that also. :) I would recommend this place for; - if you're looking for nice decent place to go on a date

Initially when we walked in, we weren't sure if they were open or not as there was some construction taking place. However, we were greeted by friendly staff, who wanted to ensure we were seated in a comfortable area without being disturbed by traffic. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating and we preferred to be seated inside as it had a chance of rain. The drinks and the starters came out within an acceptable amount of time. And they were well presented. The mains followed soon after. The Pesto Shrimp wasn't served with the pine nuts which was a disappointment and it also lacked pesto flavors. We informed the staff and they took the feedback in a welcoming manner without any excuses. The portions were filling and once again the dishes were garnished beautifully. The highlight of the experience was the fabulous staff here. Christopher and Dominique were amazing. The restrooms need to be maintained better. Unfortunately, the condition/appearance of the restaurant didn't reflect the same in the restrooms. I did hear they are doing some renovations so hopefully they will get that aspect of the restaurant sorted out. As many places in Sri Lanka are affected by the importation restrictions due to the economic situation, they didn't have all the items in the menu. Due to this their dessert section had very little variety as well. Hence we didn't try out any of the items from the dessert section. Cozy place for a good meal, with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.

I had to edit the review from 5 star to below. I had been a regular there when I was in Sri Lanka and then when I visited on 19th October I was shocked to see the management has changed and the service has gone drastically down. We had to wait for over an hour for our drinks and she was horrible. They never attended to us and we had to keep on following up with them. We placed an order and had to wait over an hour for the starters which made us leave without ordering our mains. The lady who claimed to be the manager with a scarf was rude. Staff were nice and very innocent though. Old review below with 5 star at that time. One of my favourites in Colombo. Very laid back and ambiance off the roof! Love the Staff and the food is amazing yet reasonably priced. They have the alfresco dining with shisha.

Pretty good place. Great for a gathering of friends. The place is open till 12am and we played board games it was really fun. Food is good although a bit on the expensive side. Had a lasagna and avacado shake. All my friends had some food as well and the total bill for 8 people came to about 18000. But we all didn't opt to buy food items of the same type. Some went light on their meal and drinks and others (like myself went a little heavier getting more of the expensive items in the menu) Washrooms can do with some renovation though. We left at closing time and I had to use the men's washroom, it had cockroaches coming out of a hole behind the commode. Being a person who is scared of critters I had the most intense piss I've had taken in over decade.

For a restaurant located in the barnes place this is quite spacious and ambiance is excellent. Have both indoor and outdoor seating and have ample parking space. Talking about the quality of food it is very average. We ordered Barnesbury special hot dog with mushroom which was basically an overpriced regular hot dog and the taste was average as well. And the chicken rice priced at Rs 1250 was not worth at all. However the only consolation we had was the beverages. Both raspberry mocktail and chocolate chip fudge freppe was excellent, worth the price we paid and tasted real good. This place has 10% service charges and about 17% government taxes for the total bill, so not so pocket friendly. Would go again? Well have to think twice 😉
