Yo, wave riders and brunch connoisseurs! 🌞🍴After a wild ride on Sri Lanka's rollercoaster of bus trips, I stumbled upon a true haven in the heart of Colombo - The Seed Café. This place isn’t just a café; it’s an oasis of calm in the bustling city, a tranquil lagoon where you can recharge your batteries with some seriously sublime grub. 🌱🌟 Walking into The Seed Café, I instantly felt the city's hustle and bustle wash away, like kicking out of a heavy wave and finding yourself in a serene, glassy lagoon. The vibe? Pure chill. It’s like this spot is channeling the laid-back essence of a secluded beach, right there in the urban jungle. 🏝️✨ The brunch menu was a game-changer. It wasn't just food; it was a culinary adventure, a tasty wave that I was all too stoked to ride. Every dish was a masterpiece, crafted with the kind of love and care that makes you feel like you're dining in a friend's kitchen - if your friend was a world-class chef harnessing the vibrant flavors of Sri Lanka. 🍳🌶️ I dove into a dish that was an absolute revelation. Talking 'bout freshness that makes your taste buds pop up like they're catching their first wave. Each bite was a mix of local flavors and ingredients so fresh, you'd think they'd been gathered at dawn's break by the island's best. The Seed Café isn't just serving food; they're serving vibes, health, and happiness on a plate. 🥗💖 And let's not breeze past the atmosphere of this rad spot. Nestled away from the city's roar, it’s like stepping into a secret garden where time slows down, and the only thing that matters is the present moment. The energy? It’s as if the café is hugged by a gentle wave, enveloping you in a bubble of peace and zen. 🍃🌀 Sipping on my perfectly brewed coffee, I took a moment to soak it all in. The Seed Café was more than just a brunch spot; it was a sanctuary where the food heals, comforts, and delights. It's a place where wanderers, dreamers, and foodies converge to share a meal that feels like a warm embrace. ☕️🤗 In the heart of Colombo, amidst the chaos and the charm, The Seed Café stands as a testament to what happens when passion for food meets the pursuit of wellness. It's a must-visit, not just for the food, but for the experience - an island of tranquility in the metropolitan tide, a place that nourishes the soul as much as the body. 🌆🌿 Rating it? Easy. 10/10 waves, catching each one with the stoked anticipation of what's yet to come. If life's an adventure, The Seed Café is the treasure chest at the end of the journey, filled with the jewels of flavors, wellness, and good vibes. 🌊🔮 Peace out and stay stoked, my fellow brunch adventurers. May your travels always lead you to places as rad as The Seed Café. 🤙💫

My wife and I visited Seed Cafe for the first time and had a positive experience overall. The cafe is a popular self-service brunch spot in Colombo, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. They offer a variety of vegan options on their menu, and we noticed that many foreigners were present during our visit. While we waited for our food, we noticed that the cafe had a chessboard available for customers to use. We decided to play a game of chess, which was a fun way to pass the time. It's great to see that Seed Cafe offers additional entertainment options for their customers. My wife enjoyed the Turkish-style eggs, which she found delicious. However, I tried the Mexican Chipotle Bowl with chicken and didn't enjoy it as much. I think it might be because I'm not used to eating healthy food, and the taste of the beans and kale wasn't to my liking. Despite this, the avocado and onion salsa was a highlight for me. We also ordered drinks to go with our meals. My wife had the Narang Thirst Quencher, which was a refreshing mix of narang, basil seeds, water, treacle, and mint. I had the Black Magic, a unique blend of pineapple, blackberries, king coconut water, and activated charcoal. Both drinks were delicious and complemented our meals well. We appreciated the attention to detail at Seed Cafe, from the decor to the presentation of the food. The staff were friendly and attentive, and our meals were served promptly. Although the cafe is self-service, we found the overall experience to be enjoyable and stress-free. Overall, we had a great experience at Seed Cafe and plan to visit again to try other dishes on the menu. If you're someone who enjoys healthy food, then this cafe is definitely worth a visit. However, if you're like me and not used to eating healthy, then the taste of some dishes might take some getting used to. Nonetheless, the vegan options and delicious drinks make Seed Cafe a great brunch spot to check out in Colombo.

A cosy cafe down Horton place, Seed Cafe is a hidden coffee spot. Parking space is shared between another 3 establishments, however there is space in total for about 10-15 vehicles so this shouldn’t be an issue. The ambiance is nice and welcoming. The staff and service was also good. We visited the location during Covid 19 however not a lot precautions were taken other than the staff wearing masks. There were a few food and beverage options available and we choose, the smoked salmon benedict bagel and the pesto chicken bagel burger. The presentation was good and so were the meat options, however the poor bread quality made the overall quality of the dish low. The bread was hard to cut with a knife and even to break with the mouth. This was a bit disappointing. We also tried out the Vegan Berry Chia Pudding, which is not in the menu but on their IG page, this was pretty good! For drinks we tried to get the white chocolatier mocha however this was not available, so we tried the milo mocha. This drink didn’t really have the typical milo punch we were looking for so it was a bit underwhelming. Also the staff failed to mention that the sugar was available in a separate counter as self service till we inquired. The prices are on the high side and I don’t think we got the value for our money unfortunately. Also we did visit the location expecting to do some work as well, however to our disappointment there was no WiFi service provided. This would not be a repeat visit place for us.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Seed Cafe, and it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance struck a perfect balance between cozy and chic. The menu at Seed Cafe boasts a diverse selection of dishes, catering to various dietary preferences. The attention to detail in each dish was evident, reflecting a commitment to quality ingredients and culinary expertise. I particularly enjoyed the creative fusion of flavors, which elevated the dining experience. The staff at Seed Cafe deserves commendation for their impeccable service. Attentive without being intrusive, they added a personal touch to the evening. The recommendations from the knowledgeable waitstaff enhanced our meal, showcasing their passion for the culinary arts. The presentation of the dishes was visually stunning, and it was evident that the chefs take pride in their craft. The freshness of the ingredients shone through in every bite, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds. Seed Cafe's commitment to sustainability is noteworthy, with eco-friendly practices evident throughout the establishment. This dedication to environmental consciousness only added to the overall positive experience. In conclusion, Seed Cafe exceeded my expectations, providing a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a food enthusiast or someone looking for a cozy spot with exceptional cuisine, I highly recommend Seed Cafe for a gastronomic adventure.

😊 The place has been set up very well, the atmosphere, the menu design and amount of options etc. Very modern, hip and a cool little spot in Colombo, I'm sure you could do work and chill out here, it was pretty busy when I came and seems popular, they have a yoga studio connected also. Also a really nice outside dining area. ✌ They have lots of options with both vegan and gluten free being accommodated for, the staff were helpful with checking my order (intolerance's etc). I had a granola bowl with coconut milk with butternut squash rotti's with banana and avocado. If I came back again, I'd go for something different as it wasn't the most tasty and also not the cheapest or the most filling :) 🙏 EDIT: The above review was from May, I came back with my family in November! We all enjoyed :) This time I went for the Seed avocado and it was very tasty, I think my mum had the seed of life big breakfast, she too really enjoyed, it was a very big portion and both were presented very nicely. The staff were once again friendly and it was pretty busy so clearly a popular place! It is more expensive than your average cafe in Sri Lanka, however it is more western style so it’s understandable. Thank you guys, much love, Ayubowan ❤

Honestly, this was delicious. No complaints. I can’t stop thinking about that avocado salsa! Yum. 🛑UPDATED REVIEW 2024 I went to Seed Cafe after almost two years yesterday and I’m so disappointed to say that the quality has dropped so much. The food wasn’t exactly warm when it came to us, and the seasonings were non-existent. My partner got the big breakfast and nothing except the Avocado salsa was seasoned. My smoked salmon was decent but the eggs needed so much salt. But the worst part was the service. It was horrible. Firstly, there’s about 6-7 people who work there and they don’t even smile at you. They take your order, and it seems they can’t wait to get that over with! Afterwards, they don’t even come clear your table or anything. For a CAFE, its employees are a huge part of the ambience. Take Seed’s sister cafe - The Grind - whose staff play a huge part in making you feel welcome. Or even a local chain like Barista or Cloe Cafe their staff are so well trained and ensure you feel comfortable and welcome. Not sure why the standards have dropped like this, but it’s disappointing. I won’t be revisiting
