Awful service and overpriced food & drink. The staff here seem to not have any idea how to run a restaurant, the entire time we were here they were all in the back constantly debating something whilst one of the guys is trying to make drinks thus slowing down all the service. The guy who took our order was in La La Land barely giving us his full attention. Every part of our order came out one by one in a random order, my coffee came and it was totally wrong, my girlfriend’s smoothie bowl arrived just as I was finishing my meal. The whole place is just a shambles. The guy making drinks has no urgency at all. I had sent my coffee back to be remade and we could see him back there just taking his time, chatting away to the other staff members, no care in the world. I ended up cancelling the coffee as by that point I just wanted to leave. He then came over to me offering to still make it for me but comp it in the bill. I declined.
For where this restaurant is located and the prices they have on their menus, you’d expect this place to be a little more upmarket and professional, it’s the complete opposite. The staff and management here seriously need to buck their ideas up if they want repeat customers, or new customers for that matter. I wish we would have read the reviews for this place before we entered.
The only reason I’m giving it a two star was because my food was average (not great), and the restaurant itself is a nice place to sit (when the staff aren’t bickering between...
Read moreI have never given a one star, but this place deserves noting more. To bad zero stars is not possible. The prices are ridiculous in relation to the quality. So one advice: stay away from here!! We ordered a Sri Lankan omelet, what we always do. But this time we burned our mouth completely, and our tasting abilities died for 2 hours! That was - absolutely to hot. Even local people here say that eating so hot is not good for your belly. It just hurted like hell, and trust me, i am used to spicy food. I was upset that someone dared to serve this food for so much so iwent to the guy for a argument. It was just painful, literally. He said its called a Sri Lankan omelet cause its so hot, so we got one of these peppers from his kitchen. The true test came!! I demanded that, if its so 'local' why don't he eat also one of these fire bombs himself! But he refused to do it, haha! I wanted him to eat it so badly.. he would burn his mouth to! but he could not do it. More proof i did not need, its clear it was even for him not eateble! But in the mean time serving it to European...

During my time in Sri Lanka, I visited Anura’s Restaurant multiple times, and it quickly became one of my favourite places in Galle Fort. The chicken burger is a must-try juicy, well-seasoned, and served with fresh sides. Their Greek salad was always fresh, light, and perfectly balanced, making it a great choice for a refreshing meal in the warm weather.
What I loved about Anura’s is the consistency every visit, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, a nice break from the busy streets of the fort. Whether you’re in the mood for something light or a filling meal, Anura’s has great options at reasonable prices.
Highly recommend for anyone visiting Galle For it’s a place I kept going back to, and I’d definitely...
