It's a birthday, and we're going out to eat. We wanted to go to Mama's, but couldn't find it. So we ended up at Chambers. We were surprised to discover that they'd expanded. Unfortunately, the coziness was somewhat lost. We sat outside on the terrace at a table for two. This would later prove to be a mistake. The menu came quite quickly, but that was the end of the speed. After a while, I waved to the waiter to order drinks. An Americano, a mango juice, and a water. The water, also cold, arrived after just 5 minutes. After 8 minutes, the juice arrived, which was, of course, watered down. After another 5 minutes, I dared to ask where my Americano was. It then arrived after another 3 minutes. Of course, without separate milk and without a biscuit. After being warned about how long this would take, which was also evident from the way the waiters walked, I quickly ordered a portion of fries. We then chose our food. I had a chicken kebab and my wife a wrap. Meanwhile, cars and trucks with their engines running on the street kept coming up to our table. In between, the fries were served, naturally without cutlery at first. After about 20 minutes, the food finally arrived, oh wonder! For me, there were two chicken strips, 15 cm long, 1 cm wide, 1 cm high, and 2 spoonfuls of rice. No, no salad. The wrap was even about 20 cm long. Unfortunately, the table wasn't cleared of the plate of fries, the cup, and other junk. So he was standing there with the food. I helped him. The food was edible, but boring. I hadn't expected a kebab to be as good as it was for 2,700 rupees. The fries cost 1500, the Americano 700, the mango juice 1000, and the wrap 1800 LKR. The prices were a bit inflated, especially since the water, which should be available to everyone, cost 300 LKR. The highlight was the bill, which was slapped with a 28% surcharge: 18% tax and a 10% service charge for those boring waiters. It should also be noted that only 3 of the 20 tables were occupied. Conclusion: Not recommended. For just under 11,000 LKR for a simple meal for 2 people, I could have hired a 5-star chef at home. After that comment i will never go back. What kind of answer??? Thats...

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was disappointing on so many levels. Let me start with the food – it was just awful. We ordered the mezze platter, and it was ridiculously small for the price. The pita bread was stale, and the tabbouleh salad didn’t even have any tabbouleh in it! Honestly, it was just a sad, bland mess.
The zucchini tajine was a joke – there was literally one tiny piece of zucchini, and the flavor was so off. It’s by far the worst tajine I’ve ever had, and that’s saying something. If you’re expecting quality Mediterranean or Middle Eastern food, this place will disappoint.
To make things worse, the bill was shocking. 18% VAT on top of the 10% service charge was added to the already inflated prices. My partner, who’s from Sri Lanka, was especially surprised. In Sri Lanka, VAT is always included in the menu price – this was a first for them, and it felt like an unnecessary surprise on top of an already underwhelming meal.
To anyone considering this place: Avoid it. There are far better options in the area that actually deliver quality food, a fair price, and a pleasant dining experience. This one’s a...
Read moreHalal food being served here as per restaurant staffs mentioned with their overall speciality on middle east cuisine especially on Moroccoan dishes/lebanese and etc. The price is slightly steep but comparable with the portion served as it is quite fulfilling for an average 2 people from Malaysia (us). The drinks are nice and they are very nice to help you being comfy when we are there. We had been served by Nafhaan in which this gentleman was very kind and responsible in his job as he even extend his help to refill the drinks with iced cubes as the weather is quite scorching and your drinks tend to become less cold. The wifi was fast and good to to for average usage of social media and some work. Besides that the overall environment of the cafe is more on traditional brickhouse style in an arabic city and sometimes the air is quite hot. They can upgrade with more Air conditioners to accomodate more people and being not too stuffy. Overall a nice pleasant experience and a good to go place to use wifi and large...
