Great location in Galle Fort with easy access to everything. Hotel lobby is very nice and the dinning area is lush gardens too. There are some very nice features such as pedal stools at the bar and things in the lobby plus communal area for seating / relaxing. Staff as very keen to help but can sometimes be a little slow. Food (breakfast) was fine but not amazing. Not boutique level. Room was big and spacious with a comfy bed balcony looked out over some gardens behind the hotel. What doesn't make it boutique and just more average are all easily fixable but not maintained.... - Bathroom window taped up - Bleach stained old bath Matt - Blinds on balcony stuck Hotel is ok but just don't expect boutique. Having travelled around Sri Lanka for the last two weeks staying in hotels, private villas and even a very basic rustic hobbit hut we only came to Galle for 1.5 days to see this location and that was enough. If you haven't sent Sri Lanka and this is a base then cannot add. Recommendations:: - Touring Galle Fort and walking the Walls - Bungalow for food - Ice cream on Peddlers where you can sit outside - Taphouse in evening for sitting outside and live music Tip:: Lastly there is a very expensive hotel in Galle Fort maybe Amangalla or close to that name, you can wander in here in the evening and have drinks on thier terrace and it's very very nice.

From all the reviews, this place looked promising. It's a quirky restaurant with lovely plants and an attached boutique hotel. We went for dinner. Chef Madhumal was responsive, and they were very prompt with messaging over Whatsapp. Unfortunately, the food took a long time to get to our table, and it wasn't great. The bathroom was quite small, not clean and needs renovation. Other guests were smoking at the table across from us, and it was quite unpleasant while we were eating. The hoppers, coconut sambal and curry were not as good compared to all the other local places we've had it. My vegan salad looked good, but lacked taste. The pumpkin soup was okay, a bit too much black pepper. My husband enjoyed his prawns. The pineapple relish was good as was the homemade mango ice cream, though the crumble was rock hard. When we asked for an additional scoop of homemade mango ice cream, they served us something else. We told them that it was quite obviously NOT the same thing. The waiter didn't agree at first, and we had to insist he check. He agreed after a while and brought the ice cream we asked for. With better options for dietary restrictions, attention to customer service and the overall upkeep, this could be a great spot.

The welcome was pleasant, wished that the receptionist was more friendly…he seemed a bit flustered. The interior was nicely decorated and so was the exterior. Loved the entrance and the umbrella hooded eating area. The room was clean , however no toiletries other than the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided, specially when it says a boutique hotel. Wished there was a hair dryer and an iron in the room. But it was a calm and serene surrounding. However, we were disappointed with both the breakfast options…the English breakfast had two small pieces of bacon, a croissant and two slices of bread with butter, jam and a chutney I think. The Sri Lankan hopper breakfast was not great too… two hoppers…I asked my egg hoppers to be fully set which they couldn’t do even at the third attempt….so I gave up. the milk in the coffee had curdled which was disappointing and not very appetizing. I would say that it doesn’t stand up to the rate of a boutique hotel. Lots to improve.
