Our stay at Villa Sea View & Sea Food Restaurant was truly unforgettable, and I cannot thank the owner and staff enough for the wonderful hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and care, which instantly made us feel at home. The attention to detail and genuine kindness of the team really stood out and set the tone for the rest of our stay.
The rooms were spacious, spotless, and designed for comfort, with all the facilities we needed for a relaxing holiday. The best part was waking up to the most breathtaking sea view â opening the curtains each morning to the sound of waves and the endless blue horizon was pure bliss. It is the kind of view that stays in your memory long after you leave.
The facilities at the villa are excellent, perfectly maintained, and created to give guests a balance of relaxation and convenience. Whether it was the cozy seating areas, peaceful surroundings, or little touches that made the stay more comfortable, everything was thoughtfully arranged.
But the highlight of our experience was definitely the food. Every meal we had here was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The seafood is some of the best we have ever tasted â from the perfectly grilled prawns to the flavorful crab curry and other local specialties. You can truly taste the freshness in every bite. Even the vegetarian options were delightful, showing the care and skill put into every dish. Enjoying these meals while overlooking the sea made the experience even more magical â dining with the sound of waves in the background is something special that you donât get everywhere.
What impressed us most was the combination of quality, affordability, and heartfelt service. The owner personally checked in on us and ensured everything was perfect, which we deeply appreciated. Their dedication to guests and passion for hospitality is clear in every detail.
Overall, Villa Sea View is not just a place to stay â it is a complete experience of comfort, relaxation, amazing food, and unforgettable views. We left with beautiful memories and so much gratitude to the owner and staff for making our visit so special. We are already looking forward to returning, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
Thank you once again for everything â you made our stay...
Read moreWe were so, so fortunate to get a free upgrade (same price) to one of the new first floor rooms (there are two). The rooms are spacious, stunning, glazed doors overlooking the ocean and allowing in plenty of light. The bed was extremely comfortable but unfortunately the bed linen was quite poor quality, mismatched but most importantly it was too small for the mattress which resulted in three nights of broken sleep whilst we were fighting to keep the sheets on the mattress and over ourselves (this is the only negative). The rooms are so new that there were no chairs available on the balcony, we mentioned this to Darshi and her husband and within three hours we had chairs! So accommodating! Breakfast is for an extra fee but the breakfasts were AMAZING! Particularly last day when Darshi made us string hoppers from red rice, yellow dahl and the most amazing, spicy coconut sambal. We had dinner here on two nights also and the food was fantastic! Darshi is an excellent cook. The villa apartments are within 10 mins walk of Galle Fort, Galle Cricket Ground and the town centre. There is a large supermarket and an ATM across the road and Darshi hailed a bus right outside to take us to Hikkaduwa and the bus ride was so much fun! 100LKR to travel 17km. Thank you Darshi to you and your entire family for...
Read moreI was surprised by the high ratings on Booking.com (9.3) and Google Maps, as my experience didnât quite match those expectations. For the price range of $30â40, I felt the value was quite low. A rate closer to $10â15 would seem more appropriate for what was offered.
The room I stayed in felt quite dated, with a musty smell and dirty carpet. Shortly after I checked out, renovation work began on the room, which suggests improvements may be on the way.
The name of the guesthouse was also a bit misleading. I had different expectations going in, and while thatâs partly on me, the listing could be clearer. A name like âGalle Family Homestayâ might better reflect the experience, as youâre staying in shared family living space. Also, most of the rooms are located down a narrow alley.
One thing I didnât appreciate was the additional 6% charge for paying by credit cardâwhich I declined. Thatâs higher than what Iâve typically seen elsewhere.
With a lower price point, this could be a decent option for budget travelers. But at its current rate, there are better alternatives available...
