I recently visited the newly opened Kixi Cafe on Havelock Road in Galle and was thoroughly impressed. This cafe is a delightful addition to the local dining scene, offering a perfect combination of excellent coffee, brunch, and lunch options.

The coffee at Kixi is top-notch, with a variety of blends that cater to both strong and mild preferences. Whether you’re a fan of a robust espresso or a creamy latte, the baristas here know how to deliver.

Walked into Kixi one rainy afternoon without any plans, and we were pleasantly surprised.

First of all, the café itself is beautiful. It features warm wooden furniture, a spacious layout, and plenty of natural light. For a moment, it felt unreal to find such a calm and quiet spot right in the heart of Galle city.

The menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated to suit both local and international visitors. The food and drinks we ordered were decent and arrived fairly quickly.

The highlight of our visit was the service. The gentleman who served us (we wish we had caught his name) was incredibly patient, answering all our questions with genuine care. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and even offered to remake a drink at no charge when we mentioned it wasn’t quite what we expected. It’s rare to meet someone so open to feedback without being defensive, and who clearly takes pride in what they do.

I truly hope the warmth and hospitality we experienced at Kixi continue for many years. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu and spend slow afternoons here...

Our visit to Kixi Havelock was truly memorable, not just because of the great food and drinks, but because of the outstanding service we received.

We initially went to the Kixi outlet at Galle Fort looking for a specific drink, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available there. That’s when Mr. Sanka, one of their incredibly helpful employees, went above and beyond. He offered to take us in his three-wheeler all the way to the Kixi Havelock branch — and after we enjoyed our time there, he kindly brought us back to Galle Fort as well.

This kind of genuine hospitality and care is rare to find. We were really touched by how thoughtful and accommodating the team was, especially Mr. Sanka. It’s not just a place with great products — it’s a place with great people.
