Home Living Unit — Hotel in Galle

We were very pleasantly surprised about this lovely apartment. The staff were very helpful and kind,and helped us with any questions. It is not far to walk into the fort(around 10 min), and we were very happy that we could experience life in Galle outside the very touristy fort. It is a good idea to bring a flashlight when walking around in the dark, so that oncoming traffic can see you on the streets. Also not to get scared about the varans walking the street with you. Do not go by tuc tuc in and out of the fort, as there are many one way streets and they will have to drive twice as far. The Homestay have very good internet, although it sometimes stopped working. You will have a whole apartment for your self and they serve great breakfast. We would deffinetly recommend staying outside the fort and eat with the locals. Very reccomendable and historic house. I recently stayed at a wonderful homestay in Galle, and I must say, it was one of the best experiences I've had! The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and offer great value for the price, especially in the heart of Galle city. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep.

Initially, I had some doubts due to a few negative reviews, but my experience was entirely different from what they described. Upon arrival, I found the place far exceeded my expectations. The owner is incredibly kind and attentive, providing outstanding service throughout my stay. The breakfast was also fantastic and truly added to the experience.

My room for one night was spacious and well equipped (blow drier, mirrors etcetera). The room was clean and smelled very good. The staff was super friendly and the location to the railway and bus station is about 7 minutes by walking. The fort can be arrived within about 10 minutes. I enjoyed the comfortable chairs on the common terrace in the evening and also the water refill station. Since the house is located in the backyard it was very calm. I didn’t have breakfast or other meals in the accommodation, so I can’ tell about it.
