DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!

Was here 2 months before with my girlfriend I want to comment about their dishonest practice.

Accidentally paid €50 instead of €40 over their PayPal (which obviously included a 10% tip over a bill of €36).

Once paid, the restaurant didn't give a damn even if it was a minute after paying and told us they cannot return it. The waiter said the owner will return the money and took my number. Did not bother to call. Contacted the owner over PayPal and still did not return the money. Clearly, they did not want to return the unearned money. If this is not robbery, I don't know what is. WHAT A SHAMELESS BEHAVIOUR!

Such practices are questioning the honesty of these people running the business. Makes it even more difficult for me to tip these scammers.

On top of this, the tables were not clean and spider web along the walls. No wonder why nobody was visiting here - huge place with all tables empty. At least, could have served their only visitors well.

We would NEVER VISIT again and would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone reading this comment to visit.

Editing to respond to the owner's comment - Your employee told us card payment is not working but I can send PayPal to the owner's PayPal. That's why I mentioned "Accidentally" Your employee took my phone number and promised a callback and the owner will refund via the PayPal.

Money was paid from my girlfriend's PayPal.

Either your own employee has scammed you or you had no intention of returning that money even after taking our phone number and us following back to you. Either way, loss is customer's.

Plus I already got in touch with the WhatsApp number mentioned in the website and they still have no intention of...

And it gets better. Now they deliver to my area and the interface for their website through which I can order is seamless. It is directly with them and no extra charges..

————————————

Customer service and care redefined and taken to another level altogether!!!

My children wanted to have food from Swadishta and we just felt a km short of the delivery range - I spoke to the restaurant and they have made arrangements to deliver at a very nominal fee. Totally touched by the level of care and service. Thank you so much. ———————— There are times when you forget everything around you and just live happily in that moment... Thanks to Swadishta, we had a fabulous lunch experience - we were ordering a takeaway after days and to say that Swadishta went over and above in ensuring customer delight is an understatement. The food on the table disappeared in minutes, else I would have loved to share photos of the amazing vada pav with that orange chutney powder and fried green chillies that took me back to my Karjat vada pav days ... The malai kofta and Palak paneer were cooked to perfection and were the best accompaniment to the whole wheat chapatis and garlic naan. The icing on the cake was the Aamrakhand - I literally wish I had ordered more...

The order was ready in 25 minutes with a surprise for us - we had requested for hara bhara kababs only to realise they weren’t available today - but lo and behold they made it for us ... and they were yummy ...

Thank you...

Had dinner with my family. We had a reservation. Staff was not so much interested in showing us the table (three of them kept looking at each other to figure out whose turn it is). Once we sat at the table, we asked for a baby chair which we got. Staff brought 2 plates and two sets of cutlery. kid(not a baby) was not offered any plate or cutlery. We asked for it but still nothing. We asked again and finally got the plate and cutlery for the kid.(thankfully someone realized that kid can also eat). We ordered drinks and water for the kid. Again, didn’t get a glass even after asking repeatedly. At this point it was a bit annoying. Ordered starters, kulcha and swadistha thali(combination of multiple dishes served on a plate). At the end of the meal, asked to pack the food and staff says we don’t do that. Asked the other staff(who had got the plate, cutlery and glass for the kid) to pack. He asked one of his colleagues to do that. The colleague basically dumped all the food(around 5-6 dishes) inside a box. Attached a photo for reference. Basically all the dishes were on top of each other and mixed with each other(read cocktail of dishes). Had a terrible experience. Never again. Won’t recommend anyone with kid or anyone looking for good quality authentic Indian food in Berlin. Food, service, experience are all pathetic. Only positive thing is probably the art inside...

Arriving at the restaurant predictably unpunctual, our friend, in an effort to save time orders for the table. time passes and our orders of hot food begin to glide over to the table. Each plate is met with wide eyed excitement. On the third round of deliveries a plate that was meant for another table arrives. our friend explains the error to the waitress, she apologizes and the plate slides back into the darkness of the evening. minutes later the plate returns but is now being held by man. He is further up in the the hierarchy of the restaurant. wordlessly he tries to deposit the plate at the table when our friend explains again, that he did not order this dish. Glances are shared across the table and awkward laughter erupts in small bursts as the man attempts repeatedly to deposit the plate at the table. our friend, in his last attempt, polite but forcefully says “We did not order this” Eyes wide with despair the man gazes down at the plate. his eyes rest there for a long sullen moment and then he looks back at our friend, then back down at the plate. then as if he is catching on to our little joke, a grin begins to form and he replies “sir I am now certain you have ordered this!” He laughs heartily, pats our friend on the back and leaves empty handed. 9/10 good food, good atmosphere, unhinged service. I will come back here.

A Disgrace to Indian Hospitality – Cold Food, Hot Drinks, and Zero Humanity If I could give negative stars, I would. My order (worth €92) was scheduled for pickup via Wolt at 3:30 PM. At 5:00 PM, Wolt still showed it as “in production.” Out of frustration, I went to the restaurant myself at 4:00 PM — and guess what? The food was already sitting cold and unattended on a table while the staff were outside scrolling their phones. When I confronted them, the man simply said, “Take your order from the table.” No apology. No ownership. Just complete apathy. The food? Ice-cold. The “cold drinks”? Literally warm — not even room temperature. I asked them to at least switch them for cold ones — their answer: “We don’t have cold ones.” I asked for a glass of water after all that waiting — they refused unless I paid for it. Not even a basic courtesy offered. You’re running a restaurant that claims to represent India — a country known for its unmatched hospitality — and this is how you treat customers? Empty restaurant, rude staff, cold food, zero service. Absolutely barbaric experience. You don’t just ruin a meal — you ruin trust. To the owners: If you have any self-respect left, fix your staff, fix your attitude, and stop dragging India’s name through the dirt. Attaching proof that even by 5 PM the order still shows “in production.”
