The best beer pub in Göteborg, easy. I would guess it's also pretty high on the top list in the entire country. I simply cannot recommend it highly enough if you are a beer lover.

The place is owned and run by beer geeks, although novices are very welcome too, even if you can't tell an IPA from an APA -- and they will happily explain the difference to you if you ask. They also have a rather good pub kitchen, and their burgers are excellent. The pub itself has pretty good facilities, and the place is usually crowded despite being located on a quiet block, away from the main streets. It's less than a 5 minute walk from the nearest tram stop (Lilla Bommen), so it's still very central.

They have 30 different beers on tap (including one or two regular lagers), and hundreds of kinds of bottled beer in the fridge. Their staff is very knowledgable and give fine recommendations based on your preferences. If you ask nicely they will let you evaluate a sip of their tap beer before you commit to ordering a glass. They arrange regular beer tastings, which are quite popular.

I’m a huge fan of beers so got really excited when my sambo suggested for us to have dinner here. I had the deer Wallenberg served with mashed potatoes and lingonberry while he had the double patty spicy burger as he was starving! To be honest, I was quite disappointed with my food as I expected the dish to be “better”. More sauce, more greens perhaps? Just to lift up the dish. I know it’s a husmanskost but I was expecting more. Definitely think that my sambo’s burger was the better choice with its juicy beef patties and the charred bits were really good.

The beer selection is so wide. Prices of beers vary wildly depending on what beer you choose. We each spent around 500kr each with 2 beers and a main course. Service is friendly and great, and ambiance is quite cosy. The tables are quite close to the other tables so it can be troublesome to get to your seat or to get out of your seat unless if you’re sitting on the outside areas. Went with the Göteborg locals there for the first time and it became by far my favorite bar in Gothenburg! The beer selection here is just excellent! Knowledge waiters and waitresses that you can count on for suggesting a beer that will satisfy your taste!
