2112 — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

During my recent trip to Gothenburg, Sweden, I stumbled upon Restaurant 2112, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my visit. As an American with a particular love for burgers, I was curious to see how they would measure up to my hometown favorites. Let me tell you, 2112 did not disappoint!

First off, the ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. It’s cozy yet modern, with a rock 'n' roll vibe that sets the perfect mood for a great meal. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in.

Now, onto the main event: the burgers. I ordered the "Smoke on the Water," and it was everything I hoped for and more. The patty was perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. The toppings were fresh, and the combination of the house-made sauces added a unique and delicious twist. Each bite was a perfect blend of textures and tastes, reminding me of some of the best burger joints back in the States.

But the real surprise was the sweet potato french fries. I've had my fair share of sweet potato fries, but they were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had just the right amount of seasoning.

Restaurant 2112 offers a slice of American culinary heaven in the middle of Gothenburg. Whether you’re a fellow American looking for a taste of home or just someone who appreciates a great burger and exceptional fries, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait for my next trip to Sweden so I can stop...

I don't think I've had a burger this delicious in decades although I'm only in my 30s. I had the Big Brother and the burger patty itself was almost as soft as the brioche bun it was sandwiched between. The slight spice was just right and not overpowered. The grilled flavour was really mouth watering in the inside of the bun and surface of the patty. The patty itself was cooked exactly right. The cook at this restaurant really does know what they are doing and can't commend them enough. The menu itself is fairly simple which but the execution is excellent. We also had the wings and the chicken wrap which were equally delicious.

The staff were also probably the most polite and welcome staff I've experienced in Sweden since I moved here a few years ago (admittedly to Stockholm which might explain that!). My only regret I'd that I pressed enter on the card machine before putting in a tip.

Girlfriend and I visited the place yesterday and we fell in love with the restaurant from the very start: The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly, and the feel of the place was rock and roll in its prime time. The food was very tasty. Girlfriend got the vegan options and I got a regular burger. Both were cooked to perfection and were well seasoned. This was probably the best burger I have tasted in a restaurant - I even considered buying a second one instead of the waffles I got for dessert, which is also on their menu. So many different kinds of beers from all over the world, the only negatives were that I couldn't choose which ones to pick; Lager, Pilsner, IPA.. you name it, they have it.

The entire experience was amazing, would highly recommend going here, and I will surely revisit the restaurant another time.

Ps. If you choose to get their waffles, you can add fried chicken to it, which lived up to the American feel of the place.
