In short: In the recent times there have been some rather rude waiters and waitresses. The chefs are really nice, though, and the food is good but a bit expensive.
Reading the comments on Google review makes me realise that this has been a constant theme at this restaurant, which we used to love and visit regularly in the past. It’s a real shame but customers deserve better.

We are very long term customers of the stores and used to visit almost every evening since the store opened in Gothenburg. On Monday, I was at the store with my wife, and we placed an order for two bowls of ramen with a young waitress with blonde hair, no glasses, as soon as we arrived. She was pretty much expressionless and pretty blunt, but we did not take it as anything specific as we have noticed that the friendliness of the recent waiters and waitresses at the store have been a lot lower than before anyway.
Then, after almost an hour, nothing came at all. My wife was suffering from symptoms of hypoglycaemia and taking sugar for that at that point. We were really confused about where our noodles were so we asked the same waitress. She went to the chef, spoke a bit, chef looked confused. She came with a small note book and asked, ‘ah can you remind me what you ordered again?’. We were both so shocked but fine we told her our order again. She wrote nothing down. Literally the second she turned around - she asked again, giggling, ‘oh god can you remind me again… was it one shio and…?’ We said our order again two times literally within maybe 5 seconds?!
Ok obviously mistakes happen, these things happen. But to completely ignore the fact that the customers had been waiting for a hour because of a completely missed order and not to say anything to even mildly apologise, asking us to ‘remind’ her of an order rather than admitting to the mistake made, then not writing it down and within a second to ask again with a giggly manner. We honestly cannot be more disappointed by how we were treated. The customers around us were also looking at the situation in a pretty shocked way. After a while, the chef himself came and delivered the noodles and he was really lovely and nice.
For 200 SEK a bowl of ramen and this kind of service, it’s safe to say that it will be a good before we even...
Read moreJust had a 2nd visit during weekend. Unfortunately I need to reduce my starts on Food. Ordered Miso Ramen this time, and it was completely something different what I expected. Too complex flavor of miso, spicy sauce and sweet flavor I guess from cooked mushrooms... difficult to enjoy since I expected more mild flavor of Miso Ramen. It´s just not my kind of taste, I assume other people must enjoy it. I will stick to Tonkotsu Ramen for a while. Also the temperature of soup was not warm enough this time. Kitchen looked too busy to prepare all orders. Seems I will be able to have best ramen in best condition if I avoid busiest hours (e.g. weekdays lunch time, weekends).
Last a couple of years, seems many Japanese/Asian restaurants in Gothenburg started to serve Japanese style Ramen noodle. However most of them are just "Japanese style" copy, not genuine at all. This Koie Ramen and Ramenya in Linne are genuine for Japanese. Atmosphere/interior, this is typical Japanese Ramen noodle shop in Japan. If you say this is boring or nothing fancy interior, you should know that Ramen noodle restaurant is nothing hip, but casual fast food restaurant in Japan before giving them bad reputation. We don´t expect on interior, most important is the taste of noodle itself. I have a seat at the counter table, and ordered Tonkotsu (pork broth soup) ramen. While waiting for my noodle is ready, I enjoyed watching the chefs in the open kitchen in front of me. Service was really quick same as the ramen noodle shops in Japan. Temperature of soup: perfect Hardness of boiled noodle: perfect Taste of soup: not too salty full of "umami", I actually finished all soup which usually I don´t. Nitamago: oh I loved it... I can eat it with boiled rice everyday Menma: amazingly good! Not sure if they import from Japan or prepare on their own, but tasty anyway
I said thank you to the chef in the kitchen to open this fantastic ramen noodle restaurant in Gothenburg. I will definitely come back here whenever I...
Read moreI can definitely say this is one the best ramen I have tasted here in Sweden.
The place is very neat and organised, our waiter is very friendly and know their stuff. The restaurant has a open kitchen but I swear you won’t even hear the chef cooking and you get to really just sit down and enjoy. The table got the “proper setup”, from scichumi to sesame grinder even the chopsticks they provide are up to really good standard.
I have ordered the Shoyu ramen and let me tell you, it is extremely good! They really nailed the broth, you can really taste the bonito flakes and the umami is just wow. The noodle itself has a very nice texture and allow the broth to “stick” on it. The pork neck itself is just amazing, simple yet flavourful and tender. The menma is definitely different then the canned super market one as there is not residue and it soaked up the broth really well. AND OMG how can I forget about the egg. It is very well marinated. The taste of mirin, sake and spices are just PERFECT. The egg yolk is super soft!!! Last but not least, the sliced green onion. It is fresh, aromatic, refreshing and balance out the ramen. Overall, it is a bowl of simple yet delightful yumminess and you can really taste how much work they put in it.
My boyfriend ordered Tantanmen which is very different then the one I’ve ordered. Mine is calm, conforming and the Tantanmen is a bowl of thick and flavour explosion ramen. The amount of spice is just the right amount. Although it is “thick” but I promise you won’t get tired of it and you just keep wanting to eat more.
The other thing is that you mouth won’t even smell like good after eating. Their food is just so refreshing and pure.
Anyway, I am so glad I came across this restaurant. Nothing beat a good bowl of hot ramen during cold times. It’s really comforting and I will definitely...
