Bee Kök & Bar — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

Bee Kok & Bar turned out to be one of those perfect in-between stops during our time in Gothenburg — the kind of place where you can relax, have a genuinely good meal, and soak up the energy of the city around you. It’s located right in the heart of the shopping district, which makes it an easy and convenient stop when you’ve spent a day exploring or browsing nearby boutiques. The people-watching here is fantastic. Sitting outside, you get a clear view of the busy streets, the mix of locals and travelers, and the general buzz of city life.

We kept things fairly simple food-wise but were pleasantly surprised at just how good everything was. Between the burgers and the Caesar salads, the kitchen delivered well-executed classics that hit the spot after a full day out. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the salads were fresh and crisp — exactly what you want when you’re not looking for a drawn-out fine dining experience but still want quality.

The beer selection was excellent too. Whether you’re after something local or more familiar, they’ve curated a solid lineup. The service was friendly and efficient without being overbearing, and despite being in a high-traffic area, the staff managed to keep things running smoothly.

Overall, Bee Kok & Bar was a comfortable, tasty, and lively stop that perfectly suited the moment — casual enough to unwind, but still with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. I’d happily return here on...

I was actually having a great time... Until there was a staff change behind the bar at ~18:15. While the lovely person who had taken care of us to that point let their replacement know we were there, the replacement proceeded to very obviously and clearly ignore us, even after waiting for him to serve several newly arrived guests (to whom I always defer as they haven't had their drink yet) and signaling several times when it got quieter/less busy. The experience ended up very disappointing as up to that point it was great. With so many other options in the immediate area we took our business elsewhere. Doubly disappointing as we are gay and love supporting gay friendly and/or owned businesses around the world. Being ignored does not leave one with a very pleasant feeling when you know they were aware of...

Recently I shared dinner at Bee on two occasions. Both times the service was exceptional and the quality of dishes was very good.

Nothing was to much trouble for the staff and all were attentive and clearly appeared to be a happy team.

For me this was my first trip to Gothenburg in many years. The Bee Kök & Bar reminded me of just how special this city is, inclusive, friendly and relaxed.
