Bistro Odette — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

Love on a plate! This is a small neighbourhood bistro run by a lovely couple serving food inspired by the cook's French heritage. Though small, it is worth calling to see if there is space, or take one of the bar seats (but be sure to leave me space!) The daily special is a sure winner- whatever it is- often celebrating local produce, North African influences in French cuisine or just what the chef had a craving for that day. The tarte flambee, French pizza, is also a winner. I recommend the mushroom option, but beware, you will have to keep coming back to satisfy this new addiction. Charming bistro for a cosy night out. We enjoyed everything about it: from the confit de canard casserole, over the excellent wines down to the refined cheese platter. Går förbi Bistro Odette en mörk torsdagkväll och efter att jag tittat in i restaurangen bestämmer vi oss för att boka ett bord efterföljande kväll. Bistor Odette är ett litet ställe med ca 18 platser, men med en härlig atmosfär. Menyn är föredömligt kort och spännande och lite över det vanliga. Förrätten blir Vichyssoise, kalvbräss och friterad potatis, underbar och mustig. Smakade även på pilgrimsmusslorna som var mycket uppskattade på andra sidan bordet. Till varmrätt en klassiskt entrecote (trodde vi). Nej, här serverades den med friterad lök och en stor bukett broccoli, en trevlig överraskning. Vi avslutade kvällen med att dela på en creme brulee med kanel och konjaksmarinnerade körsbär vilket gjorde desserten lite fruktigare, mycket gott.
