We had been looking forward for a long time to try the breakfast here. We arrived and took a place from another company that was just leaving.
Nobody looked at us and said "hello" or "welcome" or "I will be right with you." They were just busy with their own things behind the counter. Had patience and waited. Table still very filthy from the previous guests. After a few minutes the menus were handed out, still very dirty tables (and dirty stained menus). It became obvious to me that they were expecting to leave it as it was. Noticed at our neighbours table how they left the unused porcelain at the table and just added what was missing. Wanted to say something but at this point it started to become a bit ridiculous and all just felt very unprofessional but most of all dirty, so we decided to leave without ordering anything. Would rather have my own breakfast at home.
I don't like giving small businesses bad reviews and the food probably is not bad at all, but the way it was managed today was not ok at all.
Bottom line: Food quality - I don't know, never got to try it....
Read moreWhile I appreciate bringing bagels to Sweden, I think the whole concept is misunderstood. First, these are pretty blah bagels at 4x the price they should be. It would be ok to pay a bit more, but they’re not very dense/chewy on the inside and were served cold; meaning they had been refrigerated! I think a bakery should make the bread fresh in the morning, and they don’t even open that early! On that note, bagels are usually breakfast, not a lunch sandwich. But the worst part is that they simply don’t offer cream cheese to-go; I was told to just go the grocery store because it would cost 100 kr for 250g!? And they don’t offer to toast or cut them for you, either. Maybe there is something I don’t understand, but it’s not like the ingredients can cost that much more, and certainly service can be included at that price. Perhaps the bagel thing just doesn’t work in...
Read moreI had the most amazing dining experience in a long time! It was my first day in Göteborg for a 3-day visit. I was greeted by the two lovely staff and immediately felt at home, except that my home doesn’t have such a luxe boutique interior. I had the classic bagel, of course, lax and cream cheese. The best bagel I’ve had in years! First bite and I knew I had to come back the next day for the cheesecake. These are the times I wish I could never get full. Naturally, before leaving Göteborg I had to come back. Elizabeth, the owner, welcome me like visiting an old friend. She’s awesome and had a little chat with her while I had my cheesecake, which was gloriously light and ceeamy. I had two bagel takeouts and couldn’t stop thinking about all the bagels I will miss eating here. And oh, thank you Elizabeth for recommending da Matteo coffee around...
