Le Comptoir Göteborg — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

How in the world does this place have rating this high? The menus are written on huge brick boards that are hard to read. After my boyfriend and I finished our meal, we were told that we can move to the bar because they’ll need the table. We said that we’ll finish our drinks and go, because we didn’t feel like staying longer. Some minutes later I went to the toilet and my partner was basically kicked out from our table. The waiter came and said that he has to wait for me by the door, because they need the table. What service is that? Mind you, we already paid and were getting ready to go, and we would leave anyway. The waiter was very rude. If he asked us to move in a nice way, it would not be a problem, however he basically kicked us out. My boyfriend told him that the behavior is not ok and that he’s very rude. The waiter was stunned and didn’t say anything. We left very disappointed. Definitely not...

Le Comptoir Göteborg is a lovely little place. The food, ambiance, service and employees there are amazing! When I was there I ordered a certain "pizza" which was amazing and they told me what wine would work well with the pizza.

The atmosphere bid the place is really nice, it's like a shop for all kinds of things like cheeses and macarons. They got their own little what I presume to be a cheese aging corner or a place where they store special cheeses. All that makes for a really nice atmosphere and an interesting smelling experience (if you are not used to strong cheese smells).

All in all a lovely place, lovely staff and I'd recommend you to visit this place when...

Old review / Kind of bad experience for us, it’s silly but during the payment we unfortunately didn’t check the receipt and they added many stuff doubling the price. Few days later when we noticed the error, we went back to be reimbursed. Basics of commerce and customer service is a disappointment here, they simply refuse.
